All right, I\'m in, but the first time I have to put a shiny ruby into a shiny ruby slot in order to get a wooden crank, I\'m returning it! ;]

Ahhh...good times...there was also a scenario where you had to put a ruby in the mouth of a lion\'s head to get a colt python...:p

You guys laugh - but I miss that. I miss the old survival horror of RE1  thru Remake.  I loved RE4 and  await 5, but I miss the old style.

Ps3 vs 360 comparison....

http://www.the-horror.com/index.php?id=features&s=bh5demo

There\'s really no difference, but in these screen caps you can see that the ps3 version has slightly blurry and less defined textures whereas the 360 textures are more defined..in motion tho you can\'t tell the difference....both games still look great.

Capcom: Resident Evil 5 will be \'biggest title in series to date\'

Quote

Capcom’s senior marketing manager, Michael Pattison, has pledged that upcoming horror sequel Resident Evil 5 will go on to become the biggest entry in the long running franchise to date.

The publisher is hopeful its self-described “stellar” Q1 line-up will hold a dismissive hand up to any potential reduction in consumer spending in light of the ongoing economic crisis, and is banking on entries such as Street Fighter IV and Resident Evil 5 rake in the more discerning punter.

“It’s definitely going to be a strong quarter for us, maybe our strongest ever,” said Pattison, adding, “The industry isn’t immune to what’s happening in the economy. People’s disposal income will be cut and they’re going to be more discerning about their purchases. Core games are perhaps better placed than those targeting a more casual audience, as core gamers will obviously purchase more games than a casual gamer.”

“Our hopes for our Q1 line-up are very high indeed. Resident Evil is by all accounts going to be the biggest title in the series to date, reaching the widest user base in its history.”

Pattison also said the company is keen on embracing fresh talent, commenting, “We’re always looking to bring strong talent on board.”

“We’re still looking to expand when the opportunity and time is right. With an ever-stronger line-up in 2009 we’re certainly well positioned to continue to expand.”

Resident Evil 5 is due out on March 13 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Resident Evil is definitely capcom\'s bread and butter....and this game is going to break records for them the same way gta4 broke records for rockstar....i wonder if the game will ever truly go back to it\'s roots. No doubt the series is an action title and it executes it well, but i would like to see a game that had the atmosphere of the very first game....maybe the series is way beyond that point, but it\'d be nice to see.

demo will be on 360 Jan 26th..think a week later for ps3

if this trailer doesnt get you pumped for it, nothing will
http://www.gametrailers.com/player/44538.html   (wont let me embed)

i have one more chapter in RE4 to go (i think) and im loving it. cant believe i skipped on it because i didnt like the ones before 4. i might hold off for a little while though since KZ2 comes out before it and i still have fallout 3 to play through

RE\'s cutscenes seem like they have the epic-ness of MGS\'s cutscenes, but they dont rely so much on them to be a huge part of the game..perfect combo of intense scenes that you cant do in gameplay and still having most of the game be actual gameplay. only problem with RE cutscenes are the damn random button pressing in the middle of a scene. have a bad habit of putting down my controller when cutscenes start

damn tough game. tried each level once and died both tries.

the AI of sheva is unfortunately pretty crappy..has no sense ot where you are standing and walks around like shes on crack when the two of you are in a room and you\'re searching around for crates and ammo. starting to wish the game didnt include her except for coop which could be really fun (and just added more enemies for coop) ..havent tested it yet

but if you liked RE4 youll like this one

I want them to get back to the good ol\' raccoon city type games. This game just comes off as too arcade like. Too many enemies, too much ammo, too much not like zombies, and I know I\'m being a little picky, but I hate how the ammo and stuff glows red and blue. It just takes away from the realistic environment. For me the demo came off more of an action game than a survival horror game.

Is it me? Or does PSone own all the other systems?
