I actually played splinter cell conviction...i think that was the newest one...and i actually liked that game...it was easy to get into,...the stealth isn\'t annoying and it\'s actually fun...there\'s no big death consequence if your cover is actually blown....i\'ll have to check out these older games tho...

[size=+1]New software turns PS3 into an Internet TV[/size]

Orb Networks today at CES unveiled software that essentially turns a PlayStation 3 into an Internet TV portal. The software enables any connected Blu-ray player, including PS3s, to access movies and TV via services like Hulu, Netflix, YouTube, and Amazon Video on Demand.

Joe Costello, CEO of Orb Networks, describes the software as a less expensive solution than other solutions, like Google TV. “The combined cost of a Blu-ray player and Orb BR software is less expensive than most of the other Internet TV solutions, like Boxee and Google TV, while providing more capabilities. With more than eight million connected Blu-ray players and 40 million PS3 players already in homes, the market opportunity for Orb BR is huge.”

The software comes in at a reasonable $19.99 USD price tag, and has helpful features like the ability to control the service through a smartphone app or on any computer. You’ll have to download the free Orb Caster software, and/or the Orb controller app for smartphones to operate the service. Then, insert the provided disc in to your Blu-ray player or PS3, and you’ll be ready.

Orb BR supports 720p and 1080p. The Orb controller app features an easy-to-use global index of TV shows. Simply type in the name of the show you want and let Orb find it for you—you won’t need to specify where to look, it could find it in Hulu, ABC, or CBS, for instance.

The software is out late February. We’ll give you a review closer to launch.

MLB 11: The Show Gets One-Button Mode For Disabled Gamers

Sony’s added a one-button gameplay mode to upcoming baseball title, MLB 11: The Show, at the request of 25-year old cerebal palsy patient, Hans Smith. According to the report [via ESPN], the new gameplay mode will allow gamers with disabilities to throw the ball or swing the bat with a single push of a button. May we nominate Square?

Simply connect an AVCHD-recordable camera to your PS3 with the USB cable, and you can view those high-definition AVCHD videos right on your TV.

The Filmy application is available in the media category within the PlayStation Store as a free trial version that allows you to operate full features for 15 minutes and also as a paid version that unlocks all content functionality for $5 USD. Once downloaded, Filmy will install under the Video icon of your XMB.

[size=+1]Did EA Just Reveal The Existence of Dead Space 3? [/size]

EA\'s CEO, John Riccitiello, has stated that he believes sales in the Dead Space series will get a massive boost with the arrival of Dead Space 3. Yes, he said Dead Space 3. Here, let me write that again with quote marks: "Dead Space 3."

John Riccitiello was speaking at the Goldman Sachs Technology and Internet Conference, where he said that he doesn\'t think of the Dead Space series as part of the list of "strong, growing franchises" yet because he believes it\'s only once Dead Space 3 comes out that the horror series will really begin to receive a boost in sales.

"Right now we\'ve got strong, growing franchises including Madden, FIFA... Need for Speed, Medal of Honor and Battlefield - I include them as one because we\'re unlikely to ship them in any one year at the same time," Riccitiello began.

"There\'s also Mass Effect... Dragon Age... and the one that\'s sort of not proven that\'s coming later in our fiscal year, Star Wars: The Old Republic. That excludes Dead Space because I think it will probably take Dead Space 3 before we get into that five million unit cadence versus say three, four."

Again, he said Dead Space 3!

[size=+1]Rumor: Resident Evil 6 to be Timed Exclusive [/size]

A couple of weeks before Resident Evil 5 was showed off at E3 a few years back reports had emerged that the Capcom-developed game may have become a timed exclusive on the Xbox 360, after Microsoft reportedly offered them a lucrative deal. Well, now, it seems that Sony are willing to do the same, but this time for the game’s yet-to-be-announced successor Resident Evil 6 for the PlayStation 3.

From what I have been told Sony have already reportedly offered Capcom a fee which they are believed to be considering; the deal, if approved by the developer, will see Resident Evil 6 be a PlayStation 3 exclusive for at least half-a-year to a year; the contract is still reportedly under approval by Capcom so the length of the deal has yet to be confirmed.

If the deal is struck by both parties then an E3 reveal is highly likely, and will probably hold the same shock when it was announced Final Fantasy XIII would be going mult-platform. For the time being, this is just a rumor so take it with a pinch of salt but with Microsoft getting all the recent timed exclusivity deals (such as all Call of Duty: Black Ops DLC will arrive on the Xbox 360 first) Sony are looking to bounce back with a bang.

Capcom Global Head of Production Keiji Inafune had last year teased Resident Evil 6 and in doing so hinted at an imminent announcement.

Rumblings of Quantic Dream Acquisition by Sony

Sony and Quantic Dream have been part of a cosy relationship as of late with Heavy Rain releasing exclusively on PS3. David Cage, studio head at Quantic Dream has stated that Sony and Quantic Dream are currently in a publishing deal for it\'s forthcoming titles.

Horizon, a game currently rumored to be in production exclusively for PS3 may be revealed by Cage at E3 2011. Horizon is one of two titles which may make an appearance at Sony\'s press conference. Featuring a sci-fi story about a couple, this could surely make a splash at the conference.

Quantic Dream has been designated in many news articles as a potential target for acquisition. It possesses a state of the art motion capture studio and falls under Sony\'s ethos of providing a back catalogue of titles for everyone. The possibility of David Cage presenting a new title at E3 2011 and continuing an exclusivity deal with Sony only points further to the thought that Quantic Dream may be acquired soon in the vein of how Media Molecule was purchased.

Job listings that have appeared on both Sucker Punch Productions\' website and Gamasutra have revealed that the studio is currently hiring for staff to work on a new PlayStation 3-exclusive title.

The listings, which appeared on both websites earlier this week, ask for people who can "take the visual imagination and quality in (Sucker Punch\'s) games to the next level" and help "kick start (the studio\'s) next big thing".

If Kratos does come back, i hope they work on the story a bit more and give Kratos some personality like what was seen in the first two games, because in prt3, Kratos was an empty shell....the only thing he really stated in that game was "only zeus death matters"...

TBH...the third game wasn\'t really crafted well story-wise....i mean i know kratos character isn\'t really a good guy, but he really isn\'t truly bad either, but in prt3..at times i just felt like kratos was pure evil...i really couldn\'t see what the gods were actually doing wrong (the writers were supposed to show that and they didn\'t) and then they tried to give kratos some type of sentimental emotion towards the end which felt completely out of place.

I know the main guy from the series the created god of war left the series for the 3rd version and it showed alot....maybe not graphically, but story-wise and character development-wise prt3 was missing alot of substance...
