because I bought my PS3 long after they stopped making the 60gb model. I got lucky when pcworld got a job lot in and was lucky to get one before they were all snapped up.

and to be honest, it didn\'t dawn on me at the time that I was missing a cable.

sorry for more questions though.  when did you bought your first ps3 and why were you interested in 60 GB model when the newer model were out that time?

So, it was usb cable that was missing, but it did come with the a/v cable.  i suppose your ps3 batteries didn\'t run out?

I wanted the 60gb for the backwards compatibility.

I managed to keep my controllers charged by using the a/b usb cable that came with something else.

I went and bought star wars jedi unleashed, and fear. I was playing my games with Av. Well I finally got the hdmi cable I ordered today and boy the graphics are amazing. The upgrade is truly worth it. Best find I had for $5.

yeah, when I switched to hdmi, I was blown away by the difference in quality. before when I was playing through av and heard everyone going on about the difference it makes, I thought they were exaggerating, but you really do see the difference.
