Does MicroSoft have a bad REP?

How many of you have heard that Microsoft has a bad rep.
YES or NO. Do they have a BAD rep.. Post your answer and why if you want too.

I believe they do, and I will post my comment on why after I eat.

Microsoft is one of the most hated and dispised companies in the world. They have monopilized the application barrier, and produce shoddy software. Sure, we can buy Linux, but it\'s the APPLICATION BARRIER that counts.

Yes they do.
You are forced to use their OS\'s which are by no means the best out there.They copied Apple\'s GUI (which Apple licensed from Xerox and improved uppon)
They buy out companies.
The newest thing is that they are stealing Linux source codes and intigrading them into their .NET strategy.
And the worst thing is in the future you will have to become a subscriber to their Office programs.
There are alot more these are just the first things that pop into my mind.
But they aren\'t all bad.

Yes they do.trying to monopilize everything.Buying companies.

It would seem that some see MS in a very unfavourable light; I would guess that people disagree with MS\'s seemingly bullish business practices. Just my perception.

At the rate MS is buying out companies, i wouldnt be too surprised if we saw Microsoft Brand Milk at the grocery store, or Microsoft Medicine...

I tell u what worries me.. What happens if MS buy out most of the GREAT developers.?
Then stop them from developering for the other consoles.. Will we end up HAVING too buy the XBOX because we have no choice.

What games we want.. We can\'t get.

But we can on the XBOX....

MS was going to buy Konami and Square. Konami wanted to remain independent, and Sony stepped in and stopped the Square thing. Remember, you have to agree to be bought out.

 YES they do, and its not all there fault. They actually did a lot to further the PC market then hinder it, but now that they have a stronghold on the PC market they are hindering somewhat.



Honestly. MS does not need to buy out developers, nor do they need to think about it. They have Konami EA and alot of others willing to develop for Xbox and thats all they need. Xbox with MS backing is going to help push the industry just like EA said.

Of course they do..... buying up all good developer to back them up...is not a great thing....from bussines pov i would say it reduce competition and incentive to create a much better games.......darn microsoft...tthey just have to much to spend.....

Also, as pc gamers, do people have much choice of not using Microsoft Windows? The answer is NO.....and it is a MONOPOLY....

For everyone who gonna buys XBOX...i would said try not to buy it...Microsoft is on its way to buy out everything in its way....and at the end as console gamers will ends up like pc gamers which is 99.9999999% depend heavily on only Microsoft Windows if they wanna play pc games....well good games...u will have no much choice anymore.......OTHER THAN MICROSOFT.......

But on the other side i wouldnt said you couldnt blame microsoft 100%, when its come to business you have to show no mercy to ur opponents...and they, i would said almost 85% succeed in pc OS ........well microsoft now enter console market and we\'ll see how they compete and try to destroy its competition....

But i would doubt microsoft would be able to destroy a very well equiped, experienced SONY, SEGA and NINTENDO in the console market.......

Do they have one? Yes.
Do they deserve it? Not really.

They brought PC use to people who wouldn\'t ever use one. Made the market very big. Sure, they release buggy software, but what company doesn\'t? Its a mere point, that MS is the biggest company now, so when they make a mistake its under the critical light. Not to mention, more people are looking for flaws in MS software then any other OS.

But of course, its the fashionable thing now\'a\'days to hate Bill and company. So, you get people who rave on about how Bill done this and done that. But, no one ever stops to think. If you ran a buisness and had the chance to become the biggest buisness and richest guy in the world, wouldn\'t you buy companies out that sold other software? Or do little tricks like high royality fees. More and likely, everyone would. But, its easier to sit and point out someones mistakes and flaws, then deal with your own.

Yes they have a bad rep, but I don\'t think they deserve it, like Living-in-Clip said, it\'s almost fashionable to bash MS now.
