You shouldn\'t ever get your hopes up high on any thread comparing two systems. Although I\'ve never seen someone compare Dreamcast to PS1.  Dreamcast is way better than PS1..  They are 5 years apart.  PS2 on the other hand is better or worse than Dreamcast depepnding on who you talk to.  I can\'t see any thing better on Dreamcast than PS2 personally, but I\'m just into nice looking fun games.  I can only buy a game or so a month anyway so I don\'t give a rats patooty how many games Dreamcast has.  By the time I need another game, another one will come out.  Yahoo..

BillyGunn, it has nothing to do with "patience".  The Dreamcast has some exclusive Sega made titles that will never see the light of day on the PS2.  And vice versa.  Some people really like those exclusive titles, so they bought the Dreamcast.  That patience comment was a little biased.  It\'s as if you were saying there is only ONE correct system to buy.  Which is NOT true.  The system to buy is the system that has the games you personally enjoy.  If you loved Sega made titles, it\'d be crazy to pass up on a Sega made machine.  Same with 2D Capcom titles or arcade games.  There is no one true system that is perfect for everybody.  Wow.  That was a very XBox-Fan-ish thing for you to say.  There\'s no reason to take jabs at the Dreamcast, unless you want to see my username.

Anyway, between Dreamcast and Playstation 1: obviously, power.  Playstation 1 has some great games and a huge library, but it\'s support is dwindling in favor of newer systems.  A great system to buy to play games already existing (they\'re cheap too), but you won\'t get the latest and greatest (trust me, there are plenty of older "greatest" games for it though).  But, if you haven\'t played it, it\'s new to you.  The Dreamcast is a new console, has about 175 games.  It allows you to play over the internet.  It really depends on what games you want, what franchises you enjoy, what developers you like.  

as you can see i am new so i dont know all the rules, but i am sorry for spaming....From my personal option, i think the fun factor of the games on the playstation were way better on the ps1 than the dreamcast, ya graphics are some what important, but thats why ill wait for a ps2, by the time i can get my hands on one there will be so many games out, and the dreamcast has been out for how long now? and how many games do they have? And if you think dreamcast graphics are the same as ps2 graphics, then you need to get a pair of glasses

Uh, again, another jab at the Dreamcast.  Why?  Is it really that much of a threat?

Dreamcast has been out for a year and has 175 games with more on the way.  Far more than the PSX or any other console had after their first year.  The Dreamcast also has 3 million users in the US.  Again, far more than any other console after it\'s first year.  As far as Dreamcast graphics vs PS2 graphics:  well, from what I\'m reading in Multiplatform gaming magazines and websites, titles that appear on both systems have comparable graphics.  DOA2, Rumble 2, etc.  I\'ve also seen a review at MSNBC that stated NFL2k1\'s players looked better than Maddens.  (I don\'t particularly trust MSNBC\'s views of Sony though).  So, at the very least, yes they are comparable so far.  Eventually, the PS2 will pull away.  But the punk asses spent an extra year on their machine.  If they don\'t pull away, they are an embarassment to the industry.

But, hey, thanks for the nice little cheap shot at the Dreamcast.  No, PS2 doesn\'t blow it away.. yet.  Yes, Dreamcast has a truckload of games (175) - moreso than any other console at the same point in it\'s history.  The Dreamcast is a damn good system putting up some damn good numbers; particularly considering the huge advantages PS2 has (PSX, more time=more power, more developers).

Well,you can if you want,but I wouldn\'t recommend it.When you do put up a biased opinion,then you get your ass burned by someone and make yourself look like a fool.Ktulu is a good example of this,you said something stupid,he semi-burned you.Wait till Altered Beast and Living-In-Clip get a hold of you...

It all comes down to a personal preference. Get the one you like the best.

gees, i didnt know you loved dreamcast that much, maybe you need to get out more or something, Why would i lie about not playing dreamcast, i have play soulblade, mortal kombat 4, space what its called that dancing game, which i say sucked, but it would suck on any system no matter, how good, now i didnt like all of them except soulblade, because it had so nice graphics, but if you compare that to tekken tag tournment there not much different...graphic wise. What you fail to realize is that I like tekken better BECAUSE IT IS FUNNIER...you may not believe me, and i really dont care if you do, but the reason why ps 2 is doing so good is not because of it graphics, but because of the games they produce on ps1 has given sony a good name...what did the saturn do? i had one and within a year i gave it away...same with n64....the games they made(even though they might have been good games, playstation brought out games even better...you will diny probably everthing i said because you LOVE your system so much you ignore all of the facts.....go head call me a girl....whats wrong with that...at least i dont envy a ****ing box
