what is the big difference between playstation 1 and dreamcast?   cuz the hype is about playstation but what makes it so much better?

i know that playstation 2 is cool cuz it can play dvds and goes on the interenet and stuff like that.....but i dont understand the whole dreamcast issue!!!

is it just the graphics that change and the games or is it a bigger issue like the loading time or the memory cards or something more along those lines?

Playstation and DC are both great systems, Dreamcast can currently go on the internet...PS2 cant right now, but will. DC doesnt play DVD\'s, PS2 does. For some people that matters to others it does...(mainly to those who ALREADY have a DVD player).

Y\'know, like Dreamcast is a next generation system, meaning it was released about five years after the Playstation.  Some other tidbits would be nice too, like a comparison of bits/bytes/polys \'n stuff?  I\'m not a console nerd so I don\'t know all of the numbers but I\'m sure someone here does.

Um...
Dreamcast has a whole bunch of bad ass games. PS2 doesn\'t.
DC plays over the internet, PS2 doesn\'t (yet).
Dreamcast is cheaper and you can actually go to a store AND BUY ONE, that\'s nice.
DC has those cool VMU\'s that play games and show cool little animations on your controller, PS2 doesn\'t.

DREAMCAST: IT\'S THINKING!!!

PLAYSTAION 2: IT\'S HIDING!!!!

I own and enjoy both.
