I wanna get something straight...
« on: February 04, 2001, 07:05:22 PM »
There is this circle of threads going around that make it look like I am trying to put an end to Sega.  I am not like that, this whole thing has been taken too seriously.  I am not spreading propaganda!  I support Sony because I like their products, I haven\'t met a Sony product that wasn\'t reliable.  I\'m sure it\'s different for everyone, but don\'t isolate me as the distinct mainstreamer trying to take down Sega.  It\'s completely unfair to look at me like that because it\'s not true, I have no problem with the other companies.  I\'m just completely satisfied with Sony, and that\'s my decision.  Once again, I am in full support of Sega, Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony.

Who\'d say such mean thing\'s about you?? ;) I didn\'t call you a fanboy or anything, so I seriously hope you don\'t take me saying the facts as I know them, and my opinions on Sony, personally.

The truth can be a hard thing to accept sometimes, in this case it works both ways.

The fact that DC is dying, and mainstreamers are the heart of the problem not PS2!

I\'ve said repeatedly that PS2, and mainstreamers were to blame, apparently you didn\'t read my whole rant. I can boycott Sony, but what can I do to mainstream gamers??

I dislike this whole mainstream gamers idea, although it\'s true, the mainstreamers which brought PS2 to it\'s glory will also hinder it later this year.  So don\'t think Sega is the only one whose going to get hurt...  Sony better have something good planned for this fall or we could see PS2 at it\'s weakest...

Chrono, I still blame Sony, I blame Sony in a big part for bringing a lot of the mainstream to gaming in the first place. Think I\'m overly critical of Sony?
Well...
1-Tough.
2-If this were MS who came in with Playstation in 95, and Sony was launching XB this year (like they absolutely switched places) I\'d be pissed at MS right now.

Well, SEGA failed somewhere.

Was it the hardware? Not likely.

Was it the marketing? Probably.

A bigger userbase (i.e. selling more DCs) wouldn\'t have helped much because they lost a lot of money on every single unit sold - money they didn\'t have.

"If" doesn not have base. Its what we have now that counts.Anyways if it was MS that made the PS in 95 it wouldnt have the same results and impact to gaming. It would have been IMO more to the worse(thats not the subject anyways).

By Unicron

The point is not how thinks would have been if it was MS and not Sony but that each company thinks differently and has slightly different targets from the others that does a big difference.Either it is good or bad.

All this talk of who\'s to blame of the death of Dreamcast is just silly.  If a company\'s product doesn\'t succeed, that\'s no one\'s fault but that company.

The only blame about a companies downfall can be put on the copany itself. you cant blame another company because it has brought in competition.

I can blame anyone I want. And you can choose to disagree.
