Sega Genesis still winning the 16 bit wars!!!
« on: February 09, 2001, 07:11:23 PM »
I found this little snippet at IGN.PS2. This last week the PS2 and PSOne\'s were the top selling consoles at roughly 50,000 units each. However the end of the artical stated this...

"Oh, and for the diehard 16-bit fans, the Sega Genesis sold a whopping 47 units during the week, while the Super NES didn\'t sell a single one."

Woohoo! The Genesis sold more than 47 times more units than the SNES did! Go Sega!!!

Wow! That\'s quite much for such an old console.

But I\'d buy Snes anyday, if I could find one. sadly they\'re quite out-sold... and stores arent getting them anymore :)

Wonder why? ;)

Ahhh yes, the good ole Majesco re-release. I was probably one of those 47. I used to buy Genesis 3s and sell them to people in Brazil for a nice profit :)

Just shos you that Genesis was the king of 16!

Sega Genesis beats Super Nintendo anyday...;) Funcoland always has Nintendos and Genesisessses...never mind. They keep the cartridges for sale in plastic baggies instead of the original boxes. They even let you play on the old systems...;)

Genesis was awesome... but the three best games in the 16 bit era were on SNES (FF3, Zelda LTTP, and Chrono Trigger).

You forget Lunar, Lunar 2, Sonic 3, Sonic and Knuckles, Phantasy Star 2 and 4, Batman Returns (SegaCD), BC Racers, Shining Force 1 and 2, etc.

Those were all extremely great games. You can\'t really narrow the 16-bit generation down to 3 games. Chrono Trigger IS one of the best easily, but the others are debatable.

btw 47 x 0 = 0

I always liked the Genesis (MegaDrive in the UK) for sports games, and the SNES for most other titles.

Like I said in another thread earlier, the SNES was better than the Genesis, plain and simple

Your math is wrong. 47 divided by zero is undefined. The word "times" doesn\'t belong there.
