What was/is your best console ever?

Probally my Dreamcast by far. Never before did a single console I owned and tried offered this much Arcade support being I\'m huge into Racing and Sport games.

I don\'t think I will give Nintendo any credit other than starting with a game that has an Italian pasta boy jumping around levels and collecting stars.

It seems that a lot of Sega fans have mucho animosity towards Nintendo. Must be because Nintendo beat them in the hardware war anyway. :D

I wonder how you Sega guys feel about Sega games on GameCube. :D

I wonder how you Nintendo guys feel about many SNES franchises on PS and PS2.

Gimme a break. Genesis and SNES were almost equal during that age. And Saturn wasn\'t even competition for N64.
July 2002: If you had bought $1000.00 worth of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00. Enron, $16.50 left. Worldcom, $5.00 left. If you had bought $1,000.00 worth of Budweiser beer one year ago, drank it all and turned in the cans for the 10 cent deposit, you would have $214.00. Based on the above, my current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

It isn\'t polite to try and cause arguements. Sega was an excellent hardware and software developer. And the Genesis did beat the Super NES during the 16 bit days. And I can count more good games for the Saturn then I can N64...Same applies with the DC.

They was just losing to much money due to a bad reputation with the 32x and sega cd.

Number one was SNES for several years.  I still play and buy games for it.

The DC is my current favorite and it\'s got the most games I\'ve ever bought for one system.

Whoa I wasn\'t trying to start an argument. I was making an observation. I wasn\'t talking about the 16-bit generation. I was talking about overall. I was trying to get under their skin.............Well............I guess that could start an argument. My bad. :D

BTW, I love SEGA. Like I stated before I was just trying to get some guys a little riled up.

Thats what I figured.:D

I didn\'t really care. Just figured you was going to get attacked and an arguement break out, in a perfectly good thread.

Okay, fine.

Please stop mentioning how Nintendo beat Sega. We have the same exact situation now with Sony. Back in the 8-bit days, if you didn\'t own an NES, you were an outcast. It was not hard for Nintendo to beat Sega.

Fast-forward to now. PS beat N64, easily. Why mention Sega losing to Nintendo during the 8-bit and handheld wars but failing to mention how humiliated they were during the 32/64 bit war?

I\'m psyched!!

I have always had the Sega and Nintendo consoles at the same time.  I love both companies and can\'t wait to see what they can do together.  Come October, good times, oh yes.

I don\'t think Nintendo was humiliated in the 32/64 bit war. They didn\'t have Sony\'s sales but they did very well maintaining a solid second place. It is not like Nintendo lost money in the last generation. They made oodles.

I dig you on that Sony-Nintendo/Sega-Nintendo Situation. I had a Sega Master System and I was pissed because only one other person had one. That severely limits game trading capabilities. I had to get an NES just so I could get in all of the good games trading cliques. :D

But I still stand by my opinion that the SMS was one of the most innovative consoles ever. It had games built in, it never had a problem with dust(like the NES) and that card slot was the coolest thing ever. Way ahead of its time IMO. Do you guys remember blowing really hard into a NES game to get it to work? Or was that just a ghetto thang? *sniff**sniff* Memories. :D

There\'s one big difference between the 8 and 32/128 bit generations. Nintnedo contracted all their third party developers so that they couldn\'t work on the more powerful Sega Master System. (Not sure if this was just in America or worldwide.. I heard the SMS beat the NES in Europe, but I\'m not sure if it\'s true).

This generation, Sony has been making sweetheart deals (Cough *Square* *EA* Cough) and may even be outright bribing some 3rd parties. But a bribe is just a bribe.. there\'s nothing legally holding those companies who could take Sony\'s money and deals, and develop for other consoles anyhow.

Now I\'m not trying to start an argument either, but I just can\'t help but wonder if Sega wouldn\'t be in the position they are now if it wasn\'t for Nintnedo\'s meddling in the 8bit era.
Please Bleed.. so I know that you are real.

God, how I hated the Nintendo hardware.

Load a cart, power on, see the vertical scrolling white screen, power down, take the cart out, blow across the ROM, re-load, re-power, see the vertical scrolling pea-soup screen, power down, blow harder until you spit, reload, see the actual game only to realize it\'s resetting itself over and over, power down, BLOW UNTIL YOUR CHEEKS TURNED RED, CURSING NINTENDO, then finally being able to play the game. Only problem is, now the game is severely pixelated and constantly dithering.

We had this solution. We took the pocket all the NES games in and jammed it in to hold the cart down. Worked when all else failed.

Ahhh. Sweet memories. Thank you Ashford. I do remember spitting on the rom, but I don\'t know what your talking about with taking it out of the pocket? Please explain.

Don\'t remind me. I remember the blowing ordeal all the time. Was horrible.
