40 ****N GIGS???....what the **** will need that much space?.....

it destroys ****s and spits on the xbox HDD:D
. I\'ve said it before and I\'ll say it again, in terms of ingenuity, exclusivity, and console competition, X-Box brings nothing to the table except a fat wad of cash and some rehashed PC components wrapped with a DC controller and a plastic black box.----RYU

Hmm. Not sure why we need 40 gigs. So, the price will be around $100-150 I imagine. Just speculation.

40gis ethernet plus a good brand? for 150$ it\'s a pretty damn good deal...

find me a high quality HDD with ethernet like the PS2 version for less than 150$...i want to see that.

If that bundle costs anything over $100 it will not sell very well at all. It will have to come bundled with a game that makes use of its capabilities and be priced around $60-$70.

I\'m sure there will be a few Blockbuster type PS2 online titles that SOny will use to push the HDD and online broadband capabilities of its machine

Still I won\'t be picking up a HDD till the must have titles appear.

I don\'t believe you guys.
a 40 gig HDD for $150 that is a damn good price. how much would you have to pay for a PC hdd of that capacity? It also comes with ethernet.
I know i will be buying one, but if i were you guys i wouldn\'t hold my breath for it going down to the price of $70. :D

It doesnt matter if its a 300 gig drive, $150 for a the ability to play a few extra games with better textures, is too much. Oh, and 40 gigs of HD space would cost you around 50 dollars less. I\'m not buying it unless it hits $50.

£100 and over is very expensive for a console\'s HD add on.
Consoles are supposed to be cheap while offering the best.

$150 for a HD yes, is a good price. But the problem is, this is an add-on to a $300 dollar CONSOLE system. If it was around $50-$75 dollars it would be easier to sell. Sony better have some "must-have" titles that REQUIRE the HD.

If Sony made some games REQUIRE the HDD then it would discourage many people. Besides, it will sell fine if Sony offers it for free when you sign up for their online network.

Sweet...:D I don\'t know why, but my 21-year-old brother must really love me. Every time I see something I want for the PS2, my brother takes me to the store and buys it for me!!!...:) He got me a $300 Sony Vaio MP3 pen for Christmas. I don\'t know why he spends so much money on me. He be stinkin\' rich though, so I guess that he has to do something with his money...

If they don\'t put out enough HD and sell them like hotcakes it discourages developers also. So, they have to work an even ground in bewteen it all.

The best way to hit that even ground was a cheap price, which would sell them easier.
