I\'d like to see 16,000  poly cars myself...

Well  I should have a better idea on how much I want an Xbox after next week.

Yea, it\'ll be shown at Gamestock. 16,000 polygons just for each car!!!! Christ, how much for the environments?!?!?!?!?!

well if the game is only a "oddworld / Malice" graphics leap,i won\'t be as excited,it better come out guns blazing to make any impression with me,because it\'s going to take alot to superceed GT3\'s looks alone

You do realize that both those games we\'re running on very incomplete dev kits

Xbox should be able to significantly improve upon what we\'ve already seen

If it doesn\'t then its over for Xbox

yes i know the dev kits aren\'t complete,but the game as you see them will not vary too much from what was shown (of course we all know the final look should slightly improve,all games usually do). i\'m talking in terms of graphical leap (using them as reference only,not judging their final form) compared to GT3 that\'s all,it better impress the hell out of everyone or this supposed hype is going to kick back harder than what it is dishing out...

on that site that talked about x-box racing game it said that the GT3 cars have 2-4000 polys and thats a lie
they have around 12-15000 polys they werent even close

that\'s not true, the gt3 cars have 4000-5000 polygons (which is enough IMO, cause in the playable I have, U can zoom in on every part of the car, and I couldn\'t find a single spot, where the polygonal edge could be spotted, (unless it\'s used to be seen of course))

GT3 cars use between 5 000- 8 000 polygons!
Mostley 6 000 polys per car!

Right!  I think some people are out of mind here...I mean...GT3 is the creature of a authentic genius and we are speaking about a GT3-Killer game made by Bizarre Creations :rolleyes:

If you spend a lot of power in Physics,AI,realism,ecc,you can\'t have more than 4-5000 polys for each car just in this generation of games...but if you use most of the power to amaze people with a high number of polys,neglecting realism,physics and bla bla...then you can have even 16,000 polygons for each car;it depends how developers use the available power!  

However I\'d like to make some little questions for people who seem a little confused...

  •  Do you think a hypothetical dreary platform game on X-Box made by a decent developer with 16.000 polys for the main character can beat Mario64 on the Nintendo 64?

  • Do you think more polys alone do better games?

  • Don\'t you realize you have to turn-on your brain before speaking?
  • Isn\'t it a main forum? :rolleyes:

umm, this is by the guys who made MSR for DC. and that game is godly. Expect good things out of this game, very good things!
