Konami to direct 70% to Sony...
« Reply #15 on: March 14, 2001, 06:12:02 PM »
Good news for Sony and its PS2, but it doesn\'t come at a surprise to me, nor will it come to me as a surprise if Square does the same thing because they have always been Sony lovers.

They also helped in the relaunch of the Playstation 2 this month, both Square and Konami.
Proud Owner of the Playstation 2, futrue Owner of Nintendo\'s Gamecube.

Sony vs. Nintendo Round 2

they still have 30%. who gives a ****, id rather have games on the more powerful XBOX. But i also like ps2s controller more.  I think sony needs to start releasing some more dam ps2s, what happened to LOTS in March.
to there are ways to give the illusion of AA,without having to take cuts in performance, and some developers are are taking advantage of themhowever ,until SOny comes up with a specific and easy ways to implement true AA that dosent take major hits on performance, you probably wont be seeing a huge number of games take advantage of it.

Well Xbox has a ways to go yet, Gamestock actually worked in reverse for me, but will see. I do realize its not final hardware.

All of those PS2\'s in March are still flying off the shelves Sony promised 9 million by the end of March, they we\'re well over 7 mill @ the begin of Feb. Demand is still very very high.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA your an idiot. Did you even read that article? I seriousl doubt that because anyone who did would realize that the other 30% belongs to GBA, not Xbox. Konami has like 10 GBA games already planned.

God that was hilarious! You just assumed that they were going to go to Xbox! HA! Your arguments are getting weaker by the day.

"We plan to spend about 70 percent of our development resources on games for PlayStation consoles next year,"

"On the GBA, Kitaue said that "We believe GBA will enjoy great success, and that Nintendo will keep its dominance in the mobile game market. Sales could reach 100 million units within five years."

Konami is less sure about the X-box. Kitaue believes that it will gain a solid market share in the U.S., but questioned how profitable the machine will be for Microsoft.

``Games for Xbox don\'t figure much in our plans for next year\'\' to March 2002, he said. Devoting resources to game development for the new console is ``risky, as the company has not shown us a clear business strategy,\'\' Kitaue told Bloomberg news.

70% for PS2, 30 % for GBA. A pre-schooler can get that. :)Please tell me you can too?

Let the flame war begin!!,j/k  no really... ryu has a point withthe reply he gave to my post, X box is only focused on the american society, not japan, sony is way better cause they have the ball, america, japan, europe, everywhere, its true about what he said, but still i will not say ps2 is gonna take the cake, its to early, it looks dim right now for X box, but you never know stuff can come up before you know it.
\"So are you going to kill her off?\"
Are you insane! I love her character, she stays.
\"The only thing loves done is put you in this position, I say kill her off!\"
Yeah, but you say a lot of things..
and how does that work....  You\'re a bicycle..

LOL ahaha thank you coremagazine they said making 10 xbox gamesTHIS YEAR,that good because thats about all the good ones, unlss the cancel mgsx and silent hill x.

Konami representatives went on record today regarding their software lineup for the fiscal year ending March 2002. From what we\'ve been told, Konami is planning to release more than 100 titles within the year. According to a company spokesperson, the majority of the games will be for the PlayStation, PlayStation 2 and Game Boy Advance. Nevertheless, Konami is also planning to support the Xbox with ten titles this year as well. More importantly, Konami confirmed that the number of exclusive PlayStation 2 titles will be curtailed due to the overlapping audience between the Xbox and PlayStation 2. Perhaps most intriguing though, insiders have confirmed that preliminary software development has begun for the Nintendo GameCube. Seemingly unable to shake the Nintendo stigma of appealing to children however, Konami confirmed that their tentative GameCube lineup will appeal to \'younger audiences.\'
