You are pretty much the only one who thinks that Sony is unstoppable so we decided to change the thread into a useful argument.

Sony is in a good position; but far from unstoppable.

[EDIT] NICE! 1000 Posts!

"Nothing Can Stop Sony". This may off topic , but look at it like this. If nothing could stop Sony, what would happen? Games would suck. Why? Because having other options is what keeps the companies going for the best position. They have to work for it. Competion encourages advancement and original titles. So, while some of you are hoping every other console dissappears, if that ever happened, the gaming market would go away. There wouldn\'t be choice, without choice there wouldn\'t be original titles and little advancement in the industry.

So, thank your lucky stars that there is MS and Nintendo going against Sony.

Just my thoughts on the matter....

I never said that I wanted x-box and GC to loose completely, but I feel that it is going very good for Sony right now, and I cant see ONE reason that can make them loose, Sony dont see the GC as a threat because Nintendo is going on the younger people, and MS without the big Japanese developers, well thats a bad sign.
I know that it is bad if x-box becomes a mess, I dont want to pay 100$ / game a.s.o
I think that Sega gave up a little bit to early, and now things is going the Sonyway.
And it is still my opinion that nothing can stop Sony now.

Look at the GBA, most the big upcoming titles are actually "advance" versions of older titles. Now do you honestly think Nintendo could get away with this, if there was another big handheld in the market? No way.

I am not a FF fan per se. I bought FF7 and thought it was incredible. I didn\'t buy FF8, but I played and thought it was decent. I like their games but I think it is time to do something new. Right now they are guilty more than anyone else of milking a franchise. It is not like they can\'t come up with innovative RPG\'s(Vagrant Story). They just need to do something different.

Umm, you should know the FF series is far more popular in Japan than Mario + Zelda combined.

N64 sales:

Mario64 = 1.98 mil
Zelda OOT = 1.45 mil

PSX sales:

FFVII = 3.26 mil
FFVIII = 3.60 mil
FFIX = 2.82 mil

Do the math. The sales of FFVIII alone beat both those games combined.

Source: http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquar...534/topten2.htm

 This is flawed in a way... The Psx has a userbase of what? 70 some million world wide? And the N64, what? 30 some million? You cannot judge the popularity of a franchise or character by the amount of sales in this aspect (at least I don\'t think it accurate), because the psx totally obliverates the N64 in userbase, meaning that there are more people \'willing\' to buy it.

 An example:

 Bob the hot dog seller sells in a relatively large city that contains 30 million people. Of coures everyone isn\'t interested in his hot dogs, but a lot are.

 Frank the hot dog seller sells in a larger city of 70+Million. He has a lot of people he can sell hot dogs to, more than that of Bob.

 Would\'nt it be logical that Frank sold more? (ok, that was a crappy analogy)

Yeah, I just wanted to say that... I guess I could have read after that more, though.

 Anyways, I didn\'t try to make a grade A+ analogy, here. Sheesh--not everyone has great English skills.
