Hm. I think its decent idea. Though, I wish they would of picked something other then Mario2,while i loved it I rather see Mario 3 Advance at launch.

Still, its a portable SNES, therefor I\'ll enjoy it.

I\'m getting a GBA.  Heck, it\'s worth it just to be able to play GB and GBC games along with GBA games.
It seems as if the people [casual gamers] that we consider to know absolutely nothing are the ones that actually know the most important thing: Name brands don\'t make the console, games do.

I won\'t be getting one because I don\'t usually travel by public transportation and when I\'m going somewhere by car I\'m usually the one doing the driving.

Therefore, the only time I\'d have to play would be when I\'m at home, but then why would I want to stare at a little screen and (as clyde pointed out) play rehashes of SNES games, when instead I could just play them on the original SNES, or just play my PSX/PS2?

To me handheld gaming seems more of a novelty than anything else, but different strokes for different folks I guess.

Game Boy Advance will be $99. A much better deal than many home consoles if you ask me.

When i heard this news i lost (and to use MM phrase) what little respect for nintendo i had left.

I would get one but then again i am well over 14 now and my balls have droped long before then, so sorry Nintendo you have missed the boat on that one again, gave up on Mario when i was still required to goto School everyday (Primary School that is "thats elementry School for non UK residents" ).

Pay through the nose for a hand held with old games and very linited capabilityes for 3d rendering.

Thats Probabily why all the old 2D Snes games are getting a "relaunch".

Mario Nope
Super Metroid "good game but why buy it a second time ?"
Zelda on the GBA is the only realy "good" thing going for it but still, why buy it a second time?

Why play that kind of money for a HANDHELD when i can just dust off my Snes i have in storage ?

If you ask me they shoud think along these lines

Oni in japanese means GHOST or DEMON

Nintendo should change there name to "Boat" and "missed" in Japanese,

They missed the Boat with the SONY partnership
They Missed the Boat with the Nintendo 64
Are they going for a HAT TRICK (Football/Soccer slang for 3 in a row) with the GBA ?

And if Nintendo think i am going to play + £30 for a HANDHELD GAME THEN THEY HAVE ANOTHER THING COMMING.

My only consern is that, is this a insight into Nintendos plans for there future, "Screw all the Older gamers lets concentrate on kids".

Oh Dear God please prevent them from doing another N64 with the nintendo Game Cube.

But i can tell you this...
The GBA will be the UK leading Handheld, but then again when it is launched in the UK the only other handheld will be THE GAME BOY COLOUR !

Fools. Would you rather a 3D handheld with a 2 hour battery life and a backlit screen? I know I sure as hell don\'t want to buy new batteries every day.

The reason the Gameboy is so successful is because is cuts the fine line between performance and functionality. The proof is in the competition.

Game Gear - Dead
Nomad - Dead
Lynx - Dead
Wonderswan - Dead
Neo Geo Pocket Colour - Dead
Wonderswan Colour - Most likely dead as soon as Square stops supporting it
Red Jade - Dead before it even got started.

And there are others.

Its a damn portable, to be able to play a new or even enhanced 2D version of Metroid on the road is well worth the price of admission imo.

Nintendo is being so clever releasing the ports right now:

1. Doesn\'t take up too many resources so they can focus on the Cube.

2. Will appeal to all the old school gamers who loved these games.

3. There\'s a whole new generation of gamers who have never even played these classic before.
