umm that is high resolution anti aliasing. Most people are on a normal TV not HD TV so they will be playing at 640x480?They will either use that new Quanqux AA (or whatever it was called) which gives the illusion of 4x FSAA while really at 2x.Or they will just use 4x FSAA.

Let me type it out real slow for you... :)

To push the PS2 like the Xbox or gamecube (ie. Using all of their features) would pull the PS2 to its knees.

The PS2 is powerfull but you have to program like some wizard to get all the power out of it.  I mean even to push 66 million polygons and use most of the floating point, out of the system, you would have to operate in parallel.  Lets be honest, thats not happening... :)

Anyone who isn\'t a Playstation biggot and with half a brain could tell you that the PS2 using all features and effects that the Xbox and/or Cube can do would bring the PS2 to its knees and give you around 1 frame per second, maybe a little more, but not much more.  Maybe 5 frames per second, IF YOURE LUCKY and WELL OPTIMISED.

The PS2 power isn\'t bad, but its the lowest power out of all next generation consoles.   Lets call a spade a spade here folks.

1)You didnt get my point. You obviously hate PS2 for one reason. Its not because PS2 is a bad console(well its not). You hate it because you hated PSX1.And you didnt hate PSX1 for no reason.OR because it was bad(something it wasnt). You hate it because it was the most succesfull.
You were probably an N64 owner or a Saturn owner.Biased one(no offence to N64 and Saturn owners.Only to fanboys).
XBOX and GC are your hopes that Sony might fail.

2)

Dont be surprised when it happens.WOW!!YOU ALSO SAID ITS POWERFULL:).The first time you say that.Ofcourse you said that.It was a way to tell us PS2\'s  full power will remain untouched.

3)Who do you think you are to know how weaker is PS2 compared to GC and XBOX??Who?You!!Even Kojima said he doesnt expect  A BIG LEAP from XBOX and GC.
And what he said was questioned. And you have Dwarrior to tell us how POWERFULL PS2 is?????

BTW.You have less than a 1/4 of a brain.

4)Bah.PS1 is still(and was) the weakest and Saturn and N64 and even DC are very far from PS\'s success.

Power means nothing.Dont be afraid to be weak dont be proud to be strong.

Well, if you think like PC developers, you can\'t get the most out of PS2.
NV2A on X-Box is robust but EE+GS on PS2 is more flexible.

If you can think at all, the choice is simple, don\'t code for the PS2.  The architecture sucks.  You would need to think like a CPU to be able to get all you can get out of the PS2.  So many people talk crap, but they don\'t know what time it is.   What it takes months on the PS2, only takes days on the Xbox to do the same exact thing.

In programming, we say thats a waste of time.   Its NON productive to re-invent the wheel from scratch just because its fun, we have deadlines and we have to work long hours to get things done and bugs fixed.

That\'s right you THINK they are to lazy, but are you a programmer, nope. You r agrument is flawed, why the hell bother with a system that is not only is a ***** to program for, takes longer to accomplish the same task, and cost more money to develop the same game. Well cause psx2 has a 10 million user base, other than that. it\'s a waste of time.

Ogodly, Microsoft wants people to make games the old PC way, and the PS2 way is probably what will be done in the future. TEXTURE STREAMING. Companies will begin to see the light... and then they will liscense there streaming engines to smaller developers. So, 1st gen was a *****. Christ, Ps2 has another 4-5 years

I also belive that the texture streaming is the future!

When we see FF10 on our TVs running on OUR PS2s we will see the diffrance in texture quality!

Well, if you\'re a PC developer, you will be comfortable with the X-platform since it\'s a PC-friendly.
But if you\'re a console developer (mainly Japanese), X-Box is just a totally new platform to pick.
