Happy Birthday board / Happy Birthday to Me, Paul2

:hb: Happy Birthday to Me, Paul2. :hb:

i would like to say that on the 2nd video, i think both the girls on the left and on the right vocal range is limited though.  the girl in the middle has somewhat better range, especially her lower register, so her range is good overall but all 3 girls in this video sing in flatter and limited range on this song.  otherwise the song might sounds much better if only both the girls on the left and right side have much better range.  the girl in the middle probably doesn't want to out sings the other 2 girls though i think.

Yeah. There was a class action lawsuit. I forget what exactly it was about. I got a small gift card for it lol. I actually forgot I had it. It's like a digital one or something. Then Facebook had that whole Cambridge Analytica thing happen like 10 years ago they still haven't fully recovered from.

Off-Topic / Re: TCL dramatically reduces price of true microLED TVs
« Last post by Paul2 on April 12, 2026, 05:31:52 PM »
yeah.  about 5 years ago, samsung sells 89" microled tv in 4k for $100,000.  Samsung managed to shrink down the leds to 89" in 4k there.  maybe that means samsung is the first company to managed to shrink it down to 89" 4k microled tv there which is under 100".  Not sure if other companies manage to shrink it down to under 100" screen sizes beside samsung though.  but it does sounds promising.  hopefully that also means much cheaper than $100,000 for the 89" by now or in a few years from now.

sony first sold the world first oled tv in 11" in 540p in late 2007 and early 2008 for $2,500.  it has comes a long way since then and now you can get 4k oled tv in 10 bit color and 120 Hz with HDR in 77" say like the lg 77" C5 for under $2,000 which still cheaper than the world first oled tv.

i am also very satisfied with my oled tv too but my middle brother scratched my oled tv when he was angry at my mom yelling at her that he became violence and that he accidently scratched the upper right and middle right side of my precious oled tv in early september 2025 which is over 7 months ago.  There are 2 scratch marks there.  when watching tv, i couldn't see the scratch marks though sitting about 3 feet away and beside i am near sighted.

nearly a year prior to that, i could see a small row of line of color banding on the upper screen and a small column of line of color banding on the left side of the screen too.  i also noticed some dead pixels mostly at the edges of the screen too.  when i first notice the black dots on the right edge of the screen a few years prior to that, i thought they were dust until a few years later after i noticed the color bandings on top of the screen and on the left side of the screen, i tried to wipe the dots on the edges of the screen (and also notice all 4 sides of the edge of the screen have black dots on it) but it didn't come off, so i realized they were dead pixels.

my suspicion was my oldest brother when he was alive probably squeezes the whole 4 sides of the screen looking for the power button to turn on the tv so he can watch porn in it when i was away from home not long after i bought the oled tv.  he squeezed the edges of the screen so hard that it probably broke the screen somewhat that it caused it to have a small row of color banding on top and a small column of color banding on the left side of the screen and caused some dead pixels around the edges of the screen too.  that was probably over 5 years ago.  i hid the tv remote control when he was alive though.  its been so long but i think i also hid the 4k blu-ray player's remote control too during those time.

around that time, i suspect that he also dented the center lower right side of the 4k blu-ray player cover that i hooked up to my 4k oled tv.  maybe he tried to look for ways to turn on the 4k blu-ray player in hoping it will turn on the tv so he can watch porn there or something like that.

but i try to live with it.  it does makes me tempted to upgrade to another oled tv but even if i did bother upgrading to a new oled tv, i am afraid sooner or later either my brother or my mom or anybody might ruined it in one way or another so i try to live with it for a few more years to decide if i want to upgrade or not.

I'm sure the technology will improve and shrink. Remember how expensive OLED was in the early 2010s? A 13 inch screen was thousands and thousands of dollars. I'm interested in seeing where this goes. I'm very satisfied with my OLED (just played Halo 4 on it on my Xbox 360 and it looked absolutely amazing) but curious to see if this shrinks down.

So the company that has been sued before for privacy issues is in trouble again for privacy issues? Not shocked by this.

when i first read the headlines a few days ago on some other websites like one of its is a videogame website, and i also happened to see a forum headline on the front right side of the main videogame website where it said sony is rubbing its hand greedily on ps5 price increase or something like that.  i thought sony was being greedy increasing the prices of all the ps5 consoles until today i read titan's post giving out the reasons why.

so there is a story behind it after all.  cool. B)

I'm not surprised people are saying that. But people also don't really take the time to think about the macroeconomics on what's going on in the industry. Nor do they know the pricing history and strategy of game consoles throughout history. And think of it this way. Things are so expensive now with costs going up and wages staying stagnant that people can hardly afford luxury goods right now. I believe console sales were already slowing down so why would they increase prices to just make more money when people already can't afford the current prices? It makes no sense unless there is a reason to increase prices. And it's the drastic price increases in core components that is a correlation right now. I was on Dell's website recently (sometimes I like to price shop) and their computers are already up in price for a low-mid range computer. I think like 800 or 900 for a computer with an Ultra 5 processor and like 16 gigs of RAM. I paid a little over 1000 for my computer (I built it) a couple years ago with an i7, 32 gigs of ram and a 4060Ti graphics card. With current prices of RAM, graphics cards and SSDs/hard drives, I wouldn't be shocked if that computer now is between 2-3 grand. And phones. Don't be surprised if phones start going up in price with the next models.

If anybody is being greedy right now its these component manufacturers. They're making record profits right now (I own stock in some of these companies and I can see that reflected in the stock prices). Even Micron pulled completely out of the consumer market (their consumer brand was Crucial) because they can sell their entire RAM chips they manufacture to these AI companies and they are willing to pay super high prices for the RAM. Western Digital sold their entire 2026 stock of hard drives to AI companies so no consumers can buy WD hard drives this year (prices are already reflecting). It's bad. So yeah, soap box rant done, I don't blame Sony, Microsoft or Nintendo for these price increases. People who just throw the blame at the hardware manufacturers just don't know what's happening in the tech industry right now. I'm interested in AI so I follow it. There's a lot going on and prices probably won't start coming down until 2028 or 2029 (that's what analysts are predicting).
actually nearly a day later after i made that post, i realized i didn't make it clear when i said i read the headlines, i didn't make it clear that i didn't click on the hyperlinks of the headlines to read about it.  i just read the headlines title only so i don't know what the other members and journalists said about it though.  yesterday, i didn't have the time to reply back since i mostly sleep too much but i rather oversleep than under sleep anyday. :)

but i did frequently visit this forums and read this thread and Titan made a lot of good points about it though that i didn't know.  cool. B)

Happy Birthday board / Happy Birthday GmanJoe & (e)

:hb: Happy Birthday GmanJoe & (e). :hb:

sorry for the 1 day late birthday greetings as probably around yesterday evening, i did happened to see you guys birthday on the bottom of the psx5 central main forums but i forgot about it.  its not until around 11:55 p,m. was when i remembered, so i went through you guys old birthday threads and i gotten sleepy so i slept through it.  it was past midnight by then, probably around 12;20 a.m. there.

i woke up at around 12:20 p.m. and continued where i left off going through you guys old birthday threads.  then its time for me to go to the park to practice martial arts, lately i been practicing martial arts once session per a day for everyday but only 1 move for 10 sets and 30 times including the weekends like today which is sunday in hoping i can improve on that one move.

then i came home and continue where i left off going through you guys old birthday threads and after i finish going through the old birthday threads.  finally i made a new birthday threads with 3 songs in it.  i added another videogame music in it this time since there are 2 people having the same birthday even though (e) hasn't been here for about 17 1/2 years already but he has the same birthday as GmanJoe.

added: i would l like to add that on the 3rd song, the singer's voice range is somewhat limited so the singing isn't as good as i would like.

btw, 126 years old eh GmanJoe? :p

so what did you guys do and get on your birthday?  how are you guys doing btw?
