What\'s that about history and being doomed to repeat it? :)

OK,AK, and TX...yea that is much better :)

You would get fucked again. It would suck if it turned out to to be north vs south again. I\'d have to move back up north...fuck the south.

Do you really think you could survive without federal assistance?

You bet your ass the military would back the government, otherwise they would end up in jail or could just go to the other side. Do you really think the majority would go with a crazy state or two that decided to go solo?

What federal assistance are you referring to?  I don\'t think you understand that all of our tax revenue goes to the federal government so they can redistribute it to other states.  We get a small portion back - but that is already ours to begin with.

If Texas alone left the Union - and yes Texas was a Republic once - the US would be fucked.  Almost all of the nations refineries are here.

Yes, I do believe the military would go with the states that left if it happened under this current administration.  The military hates Obama.  Veterans hate Obama.  Do you seriously think the majority of people would stomach the killing of their former countrymen when they can\'t even stomach 4000 US casualties in Iraq over a 4 year period?  Good luck getting them to "invade" Texas.

If it were up to me, I wouldn\'t even give you and others the chance to "relocate", I would relocate you all into labor camps ;)

In all seriousness though the current government is trashing civil liberties and turning this country into a nanny state.  Why do you think gun and ammo sales are at record levels?  Veterans are being listed as potential terrorists by the Department of Homeland Security?  The president is firing people from private corporations and taking them over or forcing them into deals like Chrysler merging with Fiat (btw didn\'t GM pay Fiat billions just to go away a few years ago?), this administrations stamping out of any criticism, the Fairness Doctrine is being tossed around... seriously, WTF!?

Then again, swine flu this fall may not make any of this relevant.

You are truely crazy if you think the US could not survive without Texas.

That is about the only thing Texas has a monopoly on, oil and refineries. Do not think the US wouldn\'t just refine elsewhere or through another country.

This is ridiculous any way as that retarded gov. Perry does not even support this idea.

I don\'t see the seceding process happening at all. Most polls show that most americans approve of how he\'s handling the economy. If his numbers were somewhere near bush\'s during his last few months, then maybe i would agree that some states are thinking about seceeding...:D The way you describe the military\'s hatred of Obama is as if the majority of the country feels that way and that is simply not the case.

The only thing i feel Obama needs to be careful of, is his intervention of firing ceo\'s...now that is something i don\'t think he should be doing. I understand him wanting the american car division to produce a strong fleet, but that firing was a wee bit too hands on. I would\'ve felt more satisfied had he done that to those ceo\'s over at AIG that was abusing the use of taxpayers funds.

I feel that the entire car industry is struggling whether you\'re GM or Toyota. At the same time tho, if these companies are comin\' back to the fed every 4 or 5 months talkin\' about they need more money just to stay open, i\'m not sure if it\'s wise to keep giving them 3 billion here or 5 billion there. I also think it\'ll be a huge blow to our economy if any of our big three vanish...not to mention the unemployment numbers that would arise out of that....idk....there\'s no easy choices.

They are just as soft.

If anything, they should have made them draft a new law. They folded due to political pressure and internal pressure.....................

Obama had little to do with ppl quitting cushy jobs........

The UAW owns Chrysler.  Pathetic really since the UAW is the primary cause of where the US auto industry is today.  If Obama really wanted to fix things he would severly curb the power that the UAW has over automakers.

I might be in the market for a fun car and was seriously looking at the Challenger, not so sure now.  I would rather go with the Camaro or even the Shelby 500GT since I have no faith in a company that is basically run by the UAW.

Plus many fail to realize that these companies will not just vanish. Someone will come along and purchase them.

I just do not want that someone to be a foreign country.

Yeah...that\'s my main concern.....even tho it\'s on a lower scale, look at what happened with budweiser brewing co. They were the biggest american brewing company...now owned by a foreign entity.....even tho i rarely drank budweiser, it was kinda like a symbol of america. The only bright spot was that none of the employees got fired or were affected by the exchange of ownership....it\'s still business as usual, but they are no longer american owned.

And Giga...i would\'ve went with the camaro anyway....the challenger is nice, but i like the camaro styling a wee bit more...it looks like a mini-vet in the back...:fro:...My boy at work went to go see one yesterday and he highly recommends gettin\' the 8 cylinder which puts out 400+ horses and has a nice heavy deep sound to it. I think we\'re going to be seein\' alot of those this summer.

When it comes to American cars I have always been a Ford man.  Have had 2 Chevy\'s and hated them, but this new Camaro doesn\'t make me think of mullets so I may be looking at the SS.
