A boy killed himself because.....

I\'m tellin ya there is some sort of subliminal messages in the cards and the other Pokemon stuff........Coincidence...I think not

think about this for a second

a normal 10 year old kid.
he has no friends
his teachers just took away his cards
his parents maybe never encouraged him

now i know there are people like that all over the world but this kid,
a child to do the act to find something to think of a place to put it to put your neck in it to think about it as your doing it , as your taking your own life , . a 10 year old kid would have thought alot about this as he was doing it. its becaus he had something wrong with him , a mental problem , becaus i dont see how any kid with his whole life infront of him could do this without stoping and deciding not to.

I read about this elsewhere.  Thought to bring it here, but I was afraid people would make fun of him and disgrace the poor child.  That almost even happened at the site that reported it...  It\'s sad and it\'s good to see for the most part that no one is (a) joking about this, or (b) blaming the cards.

I don\'t know if the event is bing highly publisized because it involves pokemon cards. Obviously the kid had some issues, but I don\'t know if there are records of kids killing themselves because of Magic cards or baseball cards?

Obvioulsy the media will lay the blame on Pokemon, but is it possible the the connection is to the actual collecting of cards?

I find it very unusual that a 10 year old would commit suicide. Normaly people that age are not mentally mature enough to get severely depressed to that point. Does anybody know the age of the youngest person ever to commit suicide?

Some things in this world are just not right.

That is sick, someday someone is going to become TOO obsessed about games, and do something way stupid...

IMO anyone that mental should do what he did. Thin out the heard.

That doesn\'t make alot of sense. There is plenty of CHEMICAL INBALANCES that can cause various mental illness--such as manic depression, bi-polar and so on. A chemical inbalance is something someone cannot help. That is the equal of saying that people with cancer should die because it is \'thinning out the herd\'.

I am not saying the boy had a chemical inbalance. Infact, I doubt he did, because alot of times they show up later in life --around the age of puberty. But still, the mentally ill are no different from anyone else sick. It is not like they ask for it.

And the very fact that mental illness is such a broad field, makes it hard for people to get help. It could be emotional, it could be chemical (i.e, low serontine levels) and so on.

And if they do get help, the usually end up takin\' so much medication it is sad. Wellburnit, depakote, prozac, respirdol, zoloft, xanax, the list goes on and on.

You obviously missed the point. He did not kill himself because of that. Those was only incidents related to the act. He killed himself due to low self esteem, because of bad parenting. That is all there is to it. It wasn\'t because of the Pokemon cards.

Your not impressing me. I NEVER under any circumstanses use medicine. If he has a chemical imbalance, low anything levels, I DONT CARE. Let him kill himself. If he was born with a disease, he is by definition weak, and whatever he does to himself is natures way of handling it. We save too damn many lives from natural problems nowadays.... if he can\'t go on without killing himself unless he\'s been doped up and in councilling, he shouldn\'t live. And this is coming from a anti-death penalty, pro-life, vegan. Human overpopulation is one of the biggest threats to the planet...

I have been close to someone with a chemical inbalance, all you Darwinist can say what you want, but he is now completly "balance" after a month of prescriptions.  We have the know-how to help people, and I think we should.  It\'s hard where to draw the line of help, but at least parents should make sure they play their part with impressionable children.

What people don\'t realise is that child suicides happen all the time all over the world.  Earth is an equally stressful place for adult and child alike.  Maybe it\'s noone\'s fault the child died, maybe it\'s everyone\'s fault.  This is a (term used loosely) "Fact of Life."  It\'s an individuals responcibility to do something about it if they are inclined.  I\'ll stop now, I\'m sure I\'ll have to post some more later.
