A boy killed himself because.....

On some news sites there is the info that a 10 years old boy hang himself because of Pokemon Cards:


"I like my friends and I like my school. I don\'t like Mrs. Winston and Miss Murphy. She took my cards and won\'t give them back. They are bullies. I can\'t get anything right, I am always wrong. I just want to die, I\'m going to hang myself."

I find this ill.

The kid was way too devoted to his cards.  There is obviously far more to this story then just some kid pissed about cards.  Gotta assume there are some parental issues with this one.  Very sad though.  I hope to God my child never gets ignored so much from parents/friends etc. that he fines so much in something as trivial as paper with a stupid picture on it.

School teacher = SATAN.

I know that some kids can\'t live without Pokemon, but this is no reason to kill yourself. I think there\'s more behind it, too.

Could you imagine if you were the two teachers?  Oh the guilt.  Even if the kid is a whack job.  I\'m kind of surprised he didn\'t kill the teachers before he killed himself.  That would be the norm these days.

Just about everyone goes through suicidal thoughts as a child.  It\'s just the easy way out.  It\'s just the non-loons pull themselves out of the slump.

Kill the teachers? I think it\'s not very easy for a (british) 10 years old boy to kill an adult.

Blaming the cards is very Liberman-ish. Just read his message,

"they are bullies"

"I can\'t get anything right"

"I am always wrong"

This poor kid had very very low self-esteem and was picked on at school - the cards were just a small part of a bigger problem. It\'s not the cards\' fault, it\'s his parent\'s and his teachers\' fault for not seeing the signs and noticing that he was a troubled child.

Of course it\'s always easier to blame the cards or videogames, and that\'s what the media is doing.

What?  Are you kidding me???  It happens all the time.  There was a trial just last month where a 13 year old was convicted for shooting and killing his teacher.  But then again that was in the US.  I am assuming the british don\'t have guns.  um, yeah....

yeah i read about this the other day, you got to be messed up too do that over pokimon card in the first place though

who is to blame?

teachers? no.
the media? no.
the cards? no.
his parents? yep.

without a doubt, any kid who kills himself because he believes that nobody loves him or that he doesnt do anything right was raised without self esteem. This is something that should be ingrained into our brains by the time we are 5.

I am not sympatathetic to anybody about this as overall, it is the kid\'s fault. Obviously if he likes school and has friends, there was something wrong with him. Probably just wantyed to prove he would go through with it. dumb kid.
