Try separation of church and state.  This was done in order to prevent wars based on religion.  The teachings of Christianity say to follow one\'s government, so don\'t go there.

Narrowminded.  It\'s easy to believe something is true, like when we die, it just ends.  But the Narrow path of Christianity, the pains I go through when I know that I\'m going to Heaven and some of my best friends are doomed for damnation.  It\'s not an easy path, no one ever said it was.

I can\'t explain how I can be so sure that I\'m going to Heaven.  It\'s a feeling that I\'veknown for quite some time now.  Being that I can\'t remeber the details of my first experiences with Christ, I\'m not going to be able to explain it to you.  Human communication is severely limited.  Speech, the most perfect form of communication we have, can not convey how I feel, and written word does an even worse job. :P

First of all, IMO there is no God.
God was created by men to live in peace and to obey local laws. The bible is nothing more then a law textbook, pure fiction. (I\'m sure gonna get some angry people after me for this :D )

How can one believe in a God, with a fu@ked up world like we have? Sure you can say that men do **** to each other, and not God. If God is real, and he cares, he wouldn’t let half the sh!t happen on this planet.

All this is my opinion of course, and is not meant to persuade anyone from believing in God.

Not true, every religion inspires war. Religion is the number one killer of people :D
People said the same thing before they crucified Jesus. They said "If you are the Christ, save yourself and all of us." I\'m sure you\'v e heard this one before:

"For God so loved the world the he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoeer does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God\'s one and only son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."

There was a little girl that was asked about Jesus, and she replied" Jesus is all that God wanted to say."

Now, I wouldn\'t be just blurting this all out...except you can\'t just follow the bible. WHen I gave myself to God, i felt an overwhe, ming warmth over my entire body. From then on, i could no longer look at people the same way. You get a sort of "new pair of eyes." Suddenly, things you continue to do that you never really thought of before just seem so....wrong. We are so very far from the animals. Troglodyte is right. The feeling you have just can\'t be explained in words.

good point on that last on Trogolodyte. They aren\'t allowed by law to teach that an exact creator made the earth. but in some areas they can teach alterior creation theories (God, evolution, Jah, etc.) without going into too much detail.

Krimson, you are more closeminded then Bossieman and that is something that probably everyone in here can agree with. If you think Nebraska and Kansas are in the south you are a complete idiot. Central High School (my alma Matter) in Omaha is ranked in the Top 10 high schools in the nation. And it is in Nebraska.

fastson - I agree about Jehova\'s Witnesses. Their religion is based on Old Testament Writings that were nullified in the New Testament. They go the way of teaching about their church in the wrong way too.

EvicX - what version did you get that out of? I believe mine says "For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son, for whosoever believeth in him shall have everlasting life." that is the first part from the King James version.

Um...it\'s in a student bible of mine. I now that what you just said is the King James Version. Mine tells me what it means in more of a modern way.

that is so very well said.

people that believe in god have something to live for, to look forward to, it is so very hard to imagine life without an afterlive, if you dont think so, try to imagine your death, without anything after it. your conceious is gone, everything is gone.

you become a nicer person once you are at peace with yourself. you tend to look at things from a different perspective, and you learn to love life.
IM BACK. you have a problem with that? get in the back.

for every animal of the forest is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills.  I know every bird in the mountains, and the creatures of the field are mine.  If I were hungry I would not tell you, for the world is mine, and all that is in it.
--Psalm 50:10-12

Where then does wisdom come from?  Where does understanding dwell?  It is hidden from the eyes of every living thing, concealed even from the birds of the air.  Destruction and Death say, \'Only a rumor of it has reached our ears.\'  God understands the way to it and he alone knows where it dwells, for he views the ends of the earth and sees everything under the heavens.  When he established the force of the wind and measured out the waters, when he made a decree for the rain  and a path for the thunderstorm, then he looked at wisdom and appraised it; he confirmed it and tested it.  And he said to man, \'The fear of the Lord--that is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding.\'
--Job 28:20-28

With the help of Jesus. And I\'m serious, I can\'t even begin to stop doing bad things without Him. I used to have the worst thoughts in my head, thoughts of rape, suicide, killing, and with His help, I am filled with joy and my mind becomes free. It\'s an amazing experience.

Not Catholic...Christian. Catholicism has silly traditions that draw your mind from Christ. Like Holy water, painted galss, and giant crosses. I don\'t want to worship a cross or pretty colors. I was never a complete athiest, but I got pretty bad before I came to GOd. It hits you like a ton of bricks.

Wow long thread...

I spammed, report me!
\"In the last 12 months 100,000 private sector jobs have been lost and yet you\'ve created 30,000 public sector jobs. Prime Minister, you cannot carry on forever squeezing the productive bit of the economy in order to fund an unprecidented engorgement of the unproductive bit. You cannot spend your way out of recession or borrow your way out of debt.\" - Daniel Hannan

Truth? From a old book, written in another language by a bunch of old white guys, and translated by a adulterous bastard king? Thanks, but no thanks. I love you too... in a platonic way, but that doesn\'t change my view of religion.

NY and CA have some of the worst public schools in America, but I guess they are better since they only teach evolutionary teachings. Gimme a break. Just lok at the dropout rate, graduation rate, test scores, etc, and you will see that schools that do allow religion are probably MUCH more successful in teaching and have less interference from violence and lack of trying on the kids part.
