The Bible was written by a large collection of people, spanning over a long amount of time.  Some books are stories revealed to them by God, some are eye-witness accounts, some are letters written to a particular group of people.

Okay so maybe I have 5 questions for you all... but I just would like to know......

P.S. I don\'t go to church often.
Some books, especially in the New Testament (The Bible is divided into the Old Testament and the New Testament, where the latter deals with Jesus\' life and the events after his resurrection), you can tell by the first paragraph who wrote them as they are letters from someone.  For example:

The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place.  He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, who testifies to everything he saw--that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.
--Revelation 1:1-2

And also the book Titus is written as a letter from Paul to Titus.

How can you explain something that miraculous and sad at the same time as coincidence or a lie. Open your mind, if you see that experience as nothing special than I don\'t see you EVER learning anything new that has to do with anything spiritual or mind-enlightening.

For me that is not miraculous, that word does not exist for me. I try to open my mind, but I have to have some kind of facts to support my thoughts. remember you are a mormon, I am not. For me your belive is just as right as muslims or jehovas or some African religon. I can belive that all those 1000s of religons are correct. How do you know that your religon is right?
I belive in science because it makes things clear for me. I dont find God as a good answer to why we are here or how universe began.
How do you decide what religon is true. Do you just follow your hearth and make that your choise. Have never doubt that your God is the right?

I am not talking about MY religion at this point anymore. I am talking about miracles and spiritual experiences. They happen in many and most churches, yet, there isno chance that Science can, nor ever will explain them. You are only seeing what you want to see Bossieman.

You cannot go into an argument with the intention of proving you are right without listening to the other side. That, my friend, is not an argument, but merely you stating your opinion over and over, which it seems all that has happened with you over the course of some 12 odd pages. Some scientist.

Adam and Eve had tons of kids. Adam lived for some 900-odd years and had many children throughout his life.

Yes, they had to have interbred for quite sometime.

Kane (sp?) killed Abel and God cursed Kane with dark skin and cast him out of the group.

Hemp was grown in earlier times as a food for animals before it was banned. Not only for food, but also (They used to make paper and stuff).

also that just makes no sense to me sorry - that means no matter what everyone is related to everyone and i don\'t see that being possible

Some of the religious people here said that their religion is their guide for life, and gives a sense to their lifes. I can understad that and I admit that I have problems sometimes when I think about death etc as an atheist.
Some people just can`t emagine that all could be over and life is for nothing. But then I think:When I`m dead and stopped to exist, how can I even realize when I stopped to exist ? It only matters now, it`s the fear of missing something when I`m gone.

I must say it`s a good thing that there are religious people all over the world who help people who need help , just out of their religious motivation. Christians first were killed for their religion - then they grew big, became selfish and started killing by themselfes in the middle ages - now they concentrate on helping people , and that`s ok imo.

Ok, lets talk about miracles and spiritual experiences.
You tell me that I only want to see what i want. Doesnt´that count for you too? My intension is not to proving I am right, I know i cant do that. Belief is so strong amongs humans that it is meaningless.

Can you give some examples of miracles? Something that is documented and can not be explained by science, something you belive never will be explained by science.
can you do that?

Don\'t get me wrong, when I say that I am Satanist I mean I just take a few ideas from the religion, I don\'t believe in the whole thing.  I take things like the fierce individualism and the idea that instead of believing in a god believe in yourself.  I also abide by their first teaching, if you f*ck up, just stand there and take it like a man.
In so many ways we live to follow the sun
In so many ways we exalt and fail as one
In so many ways we want so bad to be done
In so many ways we show our pain in unison
Bad Religion - \"In So Many Ways\"

Got Atheism?

The traces of language can be taken back to a singal source.  King Nimrod wanted to reach the heavens himself, so he started building a tower.  God saw his futil attempt and changed the workers languages.  ZThey\'d strat to argue, not understanding each other, stopped uilding the tower, and moigrated into different sections of the world.  Different exposion to the sun created the different pigments for protection.

And how is it weird that we are all related, in that we all started from two people?  How else would we grow in number?
