American consoles cannot be successufl

The Console Gaming industry IS owned by the Japanese and will ALWAYS be owned by the japanese..it\'s that simple.

Do you think japanese game developers want an american company to dicate the industry? hell no.

They know they own this business, and if an american console is 1, they fail, they lose billions of dollars and mind-share.

So you might as well forget about the xbox, it\'s a interim pest at best for the Playstation2.

I thought we were all past these silly arguments. Just because the Xbox is an American console does not mean its going to fail. Great launch lineup, tons of developer support, and its being backed by a very powerful company.

Ya Japs own the buisness but that can always change. I don\'t think X-Box will be the most succesful, but I wont deny, and nor should you, that it will be succesful. Its got enough Jap backing to make the console succesful ,especially in America, but even in Japan. I think a lot of Jap developers just want to make the best games they can and don\'t care which console the game will be on as long as it will sell, and if the games are their expect X-Box to sell. I still think PS2 will dominate because of its third party support and Sony backing, but expect there to be a fight.

If the Xbox gets games that appeal to the Japanese gamers, then the Japanese gamers players will want it. The problem is, so far it lacks any compelling games for the Japanese market.

Just because the industry is mostly controlled by Japanese companies now, that doesn\'t mean that an American console will fail. Afterall, before Nintendo, there was Atari. An American company that did very well. Things change. And it could change back, back to an American console maker dominating the charts again.

That doesn\'t mean I think the Xbox will succeed or dominate, but just because its American, does not mean it won\'t. Especially if Japanese developer jump on board.

Megiddo, just because an American system enters a Japanese market, doesn\'t mean that it will suck. That is way stereotypical. American\'s enter the market big deal but will it suck? We don\'t know. I don\'t want x-box but I\'m glad it entered the gaming race.
