give me some reasons why ps2 is better than xbox my friend wants a xbox and i say dont what should he do give em reasons thanks

There is no right answer to which console is better...tell him to look into the games that are available and upcoming releases for each system.

IMO, Xbox and PS2 have amazing lineups and games that are already out...so I had to get both:D

If your friend wants an XBox let him buy it...where\'s the problem?

PS2 has a lot more games right now,while XBox is new and needs more time to get lot of titles...

Which is better? now? PS2...in one or two years?...I don\'t know...nobody knows...and however is always a matter of taste.


My friend this is the Main Forum...not the Console Debating :)

Don\'t get me wrong...The XBox is getting great titles,it\'s a Great Console,but PS2 has a bigger variety of games for obvious reasons right now(that\'s why I said it\'s "better" now)...

...but you\'re right...it\'s not necessarily true...because XBox will get a lot of games in the next months too...and we can\'t buy 10 games each month...

I agree... if they dont do something about that launch price, they will have serious problems.

imo i prefer the ps2, im not gonna go into it, but from the games i played on xbox, i wasnt that impressed.


x box has slightly better graphics, but wont improve much, ps2 are good, and will keep getting better.


i know a fw peole with a xbox, and most say the ps2 is better, some say it was a waste of money

PS2--already comes with DVD capability.  
These games already came out so why get an Xbox?

This is the wrong forum for this topic, but since the admins will probably move it anyway...

I have both systems.  The Xbox has some fantastic graphics, a built in HD (this is one of the best features about the Xbox since PS2 memory cards are in such short supply) and has 2 or 3 great games for it.  I love not having to buy memory cards!

On the other hand the PS2 has a library of great games (FFX, GTA3, Devil May Cry, GT3, etc) and has the whole PS1 library that is compatible with it.  Both systems have DVD playback capability and both really need the DVD remote to be effective anyway I find that topic mute.

Bottom line, the PS2 is the way to go if you are buying right now and want a HUGE list of gaming options.  If you want something that "could" outperform the PS2 in a year or so then get the Xbox.  Halo and Project Gotham could keep you entertained for the next few months anyway, but there are only about 4 titles I would consider buying if I didn\'t have a PS2 because most of the good titles with the exception of the two I just mentioned are available on the PS2 also.
