Graphical wise xbox is the better console. But it doesn\'t matter which one you get. Most of the games are ported on both consoles. PS2 has been out longer and has a better variety of games.

Tell him get whatever he wants it does not matter it just a freakin gaming machine.  They both are good. Some ppl in here treat them like there gods it\'s pretty pathetic.

The PS2 is the better console now, purely down to the fact that its has the better games, but in the future - who knows. I\'m pretty sure the PS2 will be a lot more popular though, the european XBOX launch is going to flop big time

That\'s just your opinion...who\'s to say it has better games?

x box has slightly better graphics, but wont improve much, ps2 are good, and will keep getting better.

I\'d say pretty much everyone that has experienced both systems, except perhaps you maybe. You gotta face it, because its the truth. Compare how many PS2 games have 9/10 with that of the XBOX. I dont think its just an opinion, currently, its pretty much a fact.

Let him get his Xbox. It\'s his money, you don\'t have to try to rub off your extreme pro-PS2 mentalities on everyone around you.

But do all those games appeal to sed gamer?  What if Xbox\'s lineup better suits him rather than PS2\'s?  If that\'s the case then the Xbox would be the better choice.

Like I said earlier...look at the games.

Why do we bother ourselves with such superficial aspects of the gaming consoles?

MM, the Xbox HD is hardly a gimmick.  Yes some games do utilize it...  Project Gotham for one - it is nice to listen to your own music while playing.

Secondly, it is a great "memory card".  I am sick of shelling out $30 - $40 for an 8MB piece of plastic that could get lost or damaged.  The real gimmick is those PS2 memory cards you seem so fond of.

I have both systems. About 30 games for my PS2 and only 2 for my XBox, yet I still am more fond of my XBox. It just seems to have a really bright future.

Some reasons why I prefer XBox...

- The XBox Communicator. The voice modulator that this is supposed to have when it comes out sounds really cool.

- The controller. Most say it\'s too big, but I like it. The buttons seem more natural. Also, the cord is a lot longer than PS2\'s and it doesnt "crinkle" up as much as my PS2 controller cords. Also, it has a breakaway feature in case someone trips over it.

- The Hard Drive. No having to shell out $40 for each needed memory card.

- HDTV support

- Four controller slots - No having to shell out more money for a multi-tap.

- Better graphics, the possibilities of even greater future game graphics due to the hardware advantages.

I love the PS2 game library. It\'s nice having so many choices. However, XBox is starting to release over 10 games a month now as well so I dont see the library as being a big advantage in the future.

Some reasons why I prefer the PS2 better:

- just as good graphics.
- not having to spend 30$ for a DVD "unlocking" remote
- too many games I like, including unbeatable exclusives
- a future HDD and Linux kit to program my own games which sounds really cool

damn, I\'m a real ass today. :D

Fristly,  the graphics aren\'t just as good on the PS2--you are kidding yourself Seven (again), and add better framerate to the graphics too.

Secondly, you lament the fact that you have to pay $30 bucks for a remote (for a MUCH better DVD player I might add), but you don\'t mind dropping $150 for a HD that if history repeats itself will be sparcely supported by devs?

Are you reaching a bit?  Yup.  A little biased agianst xbox?  Yup.

Who\'s acting like an ass now?

Fristly, I am not kidding myself. I have played the Xbox enough to judge it on what I\'ve played so far and the graphics are NOT better. This is my opinion, can\'t beat that.

Secondly, you missed my point completely. I was being SARCASTIC - hence the "" at the end of my post. Good job once again Watchdog.

The $30 dollars for the PS2 remote btw IS NOT necessary and only gives you a bit more of that "nice to have". On the Xbox however, you don\'t have a choice. The HDD Linuxkit is not that expensive if you come to think of what\'s included. And I wasn\'t on about it being supported by the devs for games, but to point out that you will have a Linux running on it and able to create (if your skill permits it) DC like games. But anyway, no need to debate about this, my post was nothing other than sarcasm anyway - just to show how "great" this guys points was - and you do a great job of ignoring his, but jumping on me for mine.

To be more precice about his post: how many games support HDTV? Harddrive just because it\'s cheaper than a memory card? boy, if moneys is all this guy is worried about, I don\'t get how he can afford 32 games, a PS2, Xbox and then ***** around money for a memorycard. Do I need to go on?
