Sorry, but I don\'t think it\'s the games. It\'s the MS logo on the machine.

We all can say that every new console that has come out there has been a waiting period for the great games to appear on that console.

naawww  :)  if Microsoft made the most powerful machine known to man, it\'d sure get lots of technical praise, but if it still had the exact same games, then it\'d cop just as much flac as its getting now..

especially if Halo still ran at 30fps  :p

So when the PS2 first came out, you were beside yourself with joy at how good the games were?

of course not  :)  but i had enough to get me through, SSX was great fun, TimeSplitter had lasting appeal with my friends and the map maker, and Tekken Tag Tournament is my all time fav. fighting game and that probably wont be overtaken.. until.. the next Tekken Tag Tournament  :)

but this is exactly what happened when PS2 launched (DreamCast fans going nuts, Xbox fans lapping it up), and what XBox is going through.. go figure

has nothing to do with the company that makes it (although because its microsoft it does make it all the more.. poetic  :p)

I don´t like the x-box because it is made by MS. I find nothing interesting  about the x-box. Nothing new, just old x86 architechture. I find it strange that people gives Microsoft a new chance even if they have proven their ****ty OS for over 10 years.
We all have memories of MS stupid OS but still people by their x-box, why?? I have no clue.
I have used Sony products for decades and never have i been dissapointed, I have nice Sony 32" widescreen Awsome TV,
A Sony MD, VCR and other Sony products. They have proven their name again and again.

yes, buty unfortunately, XBox has to be compared to current PS2 titles, and IMO (and a lot of peoples O) it doesnt match up

i\'d take SSX over Amped, i\'d take Tekken Tag over DoA3, and i\'d take GT3 over Gotham  :)

*wants to play Halo*

i have a friend who is only interested in XBox because of its specs "yeah but XBox is so good, look at the specs!!" kinda thing.. so im gonna con him into getting one, so i can play Halo  :p  ahhh, its almost TOO easy  :)

But really Bob Amped is a much deeper game than SSX.  Tekken and DOA3 is a personal preference.

seems to me like they are all personal preference  :)  i dont play Snowboarding games for a deep experience.. i play it for fun arcade action that i can break out when a friend is over for a couple of great races showing off some huge tricks.. in that sense, i find that SSX is better than Amped.. but in fairness, i only played Amped for a little while  :)

Bossieman,

That\'s cool that you don\'t like MS products. Nothing wrong with staying with what you like, but to deny that the XBox is a good console is just fooling yourself. I had a Sony tv that died on me as well as a CD player. Did that stop me from buying the PS1 and PS2? No.

I also look at the OS market and see it a little differently than you. If people were so disgusted with MS products they would be out of business and Apple would be in it\'s place.

I am tired of hearing other companies cry that MS is a bully and we can\'t survive if you don\'t tie their hands behind there back. When someone comes out with a better product people will buy it.

IF Microsoft lets someone bring out a better product (OS) is rather questionable. That\'s what we call a monopoly. ;)

Who has propped both Apple and Corel up for the past 5 years?  MS.  Without MS we wouldn\'t have the memory hungry and feature starved Wordperfect or a computer that doubles as a desk lamp.

I don´t belive it is a good console, a good console is not just hardware, the Atari jaguar was awsome, but was it good? hell no.
I didn´t bought the PS2 because of its power, I bought it because of the games. I know awsome games would come to it, especially FF and MGS. That was enough for me. But I cant understand that a gamer choose x-box before PS2. I cant find one singel reason why a gamer should get a x-box before a PS2.
There is not even a contest. The PS2 is just to damn dominating. Almost every big AAA title will come to the PS2.
But what makes the x-box a good console????

Bossieman, those are my thoughts exactly
If you own a PS2 and want an xbox.. thats fine
but to only want xbox and nothing else is so confusing
