I don\'t excatly want to see Microsoft really fail to say the least. I want to see them compete and be challenged, verses their position operating system market, there really isn\'t any big competition aside from the US government..
What I\'m pointing out and making it very clear is that Microsoft had a killer system, it was released 2 days before GameCube debuted, so there was some competition during that weekend. It had the best "on paper" specs, it offered superior power and flexibility verses the GameCube in some areas.
What bothers me, is that I think Microsoft had the thought of coming out with a bang and had the idea in mind that it will slash sales instantly of PS2 and eventually the GameCube futher on. When the quotas were in, sales of PS2\'s still remained strong and GameCube\'s still sold strong.
Microsoft\'s launch, lets call it decent at best. Yes, I know Halo was their flagship title that was expected to sell Xbox\'s. But one game can\'t do that. It\'s like 5-6 AAA titles, and a follow up in a month or so with some more AAA titles. Microsoft\'s developers failed to produce solid AAA titles in the coming months. I believe that was critical mistake, flaw, whatever you want to call it.
And to add to all this, they got their top heads jumping ship due to Microsoft\'s position. Now, not everyone who jumps ship can be recalled back to the Xbox, but as of late, the more money Microsoft loses, the more people they loose, and that kinda fits together, no?
