Definently GC, you can still play on your PSONE games on the PS2.  But you\'ll get so many new games opened up to you.

You shouldn\'t be.  Gamecube, no question about it.  You shouldn\'t even have to think twice about that one.

Chances are you\'ll want to play new GC games rather than aging PSX titles.  I think you\'ll be much happier in the end with another system rather than rebuying a portable version of what you already have.  Atleast I would.

If Mario and Zelda are the only draws to GameCube that you can see, you\'re nearly blind. ;)

Honestly.. if you have a PS2, get the GameCube now. It has plenty of gaming goodness even now..

Nevermind later this year!

Pikmin, a tech demo? I\'ll give you Luigi\'s Mansion on that, MM.. but Pikmin is a very good game. Silly.

Great games: Pikmin, Super Monkey Ball, Resident Evil, Wave Race

Good games: Sega Soccer Slam, Super Smash Bros Melee, Luigi\'s Mansion, Rogue Leader

Solid ports: All-Star Baseball 2003, NBA Street, Sonic Adventure 2 (love it or hate it) Agent Under Fire, etc..

Buy a GC!  Why the Hell would you buy a PS1!  The games are so old.  It was a great system, but I find it hard to play PS1 games now that I have a PS2, however there are some PS1 games I still play to this day.  I own a PS2, GC, XBOX, and Dreamcast.  Forget about the PS1, it\'s old and it\'s about to die, get a GC.  I love it!  But the PS2 is my current favorite followed by the GC and XBox.  Sure there\'s some great PS1 games, but it\'s not enough to consider buying one.  Ancient technology!!  My PS1 that I bought at launch still works perfectly!

Thats a bit silly when you consider that the PS2 is backwards compatable and can play the PSX games..if not better.

ok so the Console might be fased out over the next 2 years or so.but something tell me we will still see the odd PSX game still being developed and released because its cheap to do so and the USER base out there is HUGE.

PSX and PS2 onwers combined.

Am I the only one who see\'s that this thread was started just to bash the NGC? He says there is no reason really to buy a GC, yet he is asking about buying one? Geeze.

As for the comment about how it looks like the N64 again. What kind of idiotic statement was that? Did the N64 have a new Metriod? RE exclusive? Etc? No. Does the NGC use catridges - one of the main reasons for the expensive prices for N64 games and lack of third party support? NO, it does not.

As for the "I don\'t care about pikimin" comment..You sound a lot like MM, until he broke down and played it and found out that it indeed is one of the better games out this year.

Think before you post.

So far I think everyone has told you to get a Cube, Clowd.  And every time you went "yea, but" and "no, because..."

It\'s obvious you don\'t want one so buy a PS1, enjoy your LCD gimmick, and try not to think about all the great, new games you\'re missing out on.

Oh, and when it comes out, don\'t read anything about Eternal Darkness.  You\'d probably start crying. :)
