sorry Bobs...I truly believe Sony on-line plans will fail...and PS2 will decline from now on...and heavily next year...

Why so? Most games will be free.. PlayStation Broadband wont cost anything..
All you need to buy is the $39.99 Broadband Adapter and you get a demo disc and a free game (Yanks get TMOnline, Europeans will get Hardware (the game.. Not bobo))

Why is this so bad?

MS plans is to charge you $50 for the first year then $10/month plus extra costs (for MMORPGs)

oh whoops, i was thinking of the Ninja Gaiden thread...??  wasnt i??  god dammit.. i should check that email of complaint you sent all the mods  :p

and you can believe what you want.  XBox trolls have been anticipating the imminant decline of PS2\'s sales for a long time and it has just going from strenght to strength.  Sure the big names arent quite there (except for online gaming) but this year and next year is the year that the innovative/unique Sony first and second party games not based on sequals etc. are released.  Just look at IGN/GameSpots E3 PS2 awards sections.. these games dont have the huge names but will be great and advertised SUPREMELY :D

and im sure Lara Croft will have a say in things  ;)

say all you want, but it just makes you look like every other fanboy who has been predicting the exact same thing you have since PS2 was announed :) (GO SEGAKID!!! :p)

About the online thing, BizioEE, maybe you dont realise how much sony want into the online business.. and buying the BBA is a pretty sweet deal.  Twisted Metal was pretty big hit and one of my fav. games, so getting that for free (or a voucher?) with the BBA will be a fantastic deal.  Plus all the huge names behind it like Resident Evil, Gran Turismo, Tony Hawks, EA Sports, 989 Sports (IGN said it was sweet) SOCOM GOD DAMMIT!!! and plenty more Sony WILL get the advertising rolling and WILL get the adapter into peoples homes

the HDD is another thing altogether tho.  If FFXI didnt require the HDD you can be sure that Sony\'s online plans would have gone off almost without a hitch.

you cant honestly feel that way without lying to yerself
sure the xbox may pick up over time, but it wont steal sales from PS2

BTW altered beast, why do you want FF11 to fail?

FF is the best game series in the world, and if FF11 fails, who knows what could happen to the series
