The worldwide racial situation *everyone please read*

I know alot of us are from different parts of the world..let alone different parts of the same country.

This is what I\'d liek to know. How are the race relations in your area? Black..Irish..German..Chinese..Japanese..Samoen(sp)..etc..etc.

Just curious as how things compare vs. The US..the southest US and midwest US in particular.

Well, I\'m up in upstate New York.  I happen to live in a rather homogeneous community.  However, the race relations in areas around here, and the limited ones in the town I live in, are not that bad.  Racism is really not an issue here.

Racism is not really an issue in Australia. I find that Yanks are quite racist towards us though.

Living in Alaska and having 100\'s of different cultures, racism is a big issue. We have all sorts of diffirent people, which I am glad for, but others arent. Just a while ago some kids were going around Anchorage, biggest city in Alaska, shooting Alaskan natives, and filmed it. It makes me sick.

The Capital of Nebraska...well, it\'s a dominant White Population, but there is a neighborhood in central Lincoln where it\'s prodominantly Vietnamese, but they seem to be pretty secluded as far as I can tell. Sometimes you hear some guys, oh, crack a joke at mexicans or something, which pisses me off sometimes, but outside of that, it\'s pretty clean.

Racism is pretty big over here, IMO.. (I think SD (Sverige Demokraterna - Swedish Democrats) has grown in strength somewhat (after what happened on 11th Sept, and the assasination of the racist leader in Holland), but they still dont have enough votes to enter the Parliament.)
They hold meetings (They celebrate a certain day, 30th November I think it is.. Karl (Charles) XII\'s deathday.. One of our big warrior kings (don’t know why the celebrate him, cuz IMO Gustav II Adolph was a much bigger and better warrior king))..
 
I knew a few racists at my school before.

All the immigrants here move to a special part of the city (almost like a ghetto?).
Its a mixed bag if you will, asians, arabs, bosnians, checz ect..

The immigrants stick together, they form groups where they stay.. Most of them dont like to mix with other Swedes..

Hmm, now I make it sound much worse than what it really is.. :)

Why should the US "Respect" Australia?  

Here in Tampa we had a "riot" several years back.  Kind of scarey.  It all started when a cop shot a black dude who lunged forward in his car at the cop.  I was there pretty early on the scene and you could just see it develop all around.  Rocks, bottles, and gun shots later I obviously got out of there, but apparently there is quite a race struggle in St. Pete.  

The kid that got shot was a crack addict and had tons of arrests and such.  Now he has a park named after him.  How sweet....

Little Johnny, "Mommy, why is this park named after Terry Walker"
Mom, "Well son, he was a crack dealing thug who just happened to get stopped by a cop.  He then tried to hit the cop with his car and the cop shot him."
Little Johnny, "Mommy, you didn\'t answer my question.  Why did they name the park after him."
Mom, "I have no freaking idea."
