I was thinking of getting the Radeon 9700 pro. But an 800-dollar price tag kind of put me off. I was hoping it\'ll be only between 100 and 200 dollers more then the Ti4600. Nvidia over price there cards but I\'ll get the Ti4600 and be happy with that. Till the NV30 chipset comes out, then I’ll sell the ti4600 and get a card based on that. :)

PS, What\'s the 4 for?

The 112 MHz x 18 multiplyer = abit over 2 gig.
Cause i\'m on 133 mhz x 11.5 etc

Don\'t worry, just figured it out. Your FSB 4x100 etc.

I go for DDR 400 in my new PC. I just wait for more solid SiS648 boards to come. The Gigabyte one looks best so far - review: ( http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.html?i=1708 ) but I want to see how the Soyo one will be.

The difference between DDR and Rambus is not so big anymore.

Pentium 4 2,2 with Ti 4600:

Quake 3: AsusP4T533-C 850E (PC1066) : 289,9 fps
               Gigabyte SiS648  (DDR 400)     : 284,5 fps

UT 2003: Asus:          163,48
               Gigabyte:    158,35

Like i said. There\'s bottlenecks when using memory that\'s above a FSB or GPU core, It\'s just not worth it imo. It\'s really about a good cpu and good gpu. I will try to keep up with the FSBs on the cpus etc, my fsb is 266 my mem is 266, if i had a p4 etc. I\'d get what i needed, probably the 800mhz chips, but not anything above it. but when it comes to performance, nothing beats a good cpu and gpu combo. :)  But you do need good memory. :)

Right now i\'d get 333mhz or 400mhz DDR, anything above it is just a number. (for xp processors that is)

Crucial has been good to me.  Plus they will drop the shipping charges every once in a while when you order from their website.

My computer has about 7 built-in fans. Sounds like a hurricane.
