Wow. two pages have been written since ive been away (about 2 days or less). Geeze, i can feel the love here. Why argue over such petty bulls***? Ok i totally understand were mm comes from cause in certain ways i have been in his shoes (film critic and classic lover) but we all have our opinions dammit and if you cant respect that (even if they may be wrong) then i think you all need to take a bottle of zoloft/prozac and .... well you know what to do with it. Some people i know can be obnoctious mm and it pisses me off sometimes but hey, do you really think you will get to them? Honestly? I dont mind. I take everyones opinion into consideration, but w/e this isnt all about me. So i leave you with this. Adieu

Didnt i say was going to stay out of this a long time ago? Oh well *shrugs*

easy for an icelander, eh? :)

youll have to look deeper on my list aside from tron and bladerunner, they were/are popular films, including seven samurai

I still don\'t understand why I should name some movies. To show I know something about good movies?

All I gotta say is...

The Matrix\'s action scenes were mediocre...

Pfffffftttt

Anyone who thinks they were great must get their action only from Van Damme and Stallone...

Look to the Far East for what an action movie should be...

Liked that shoot-out in the high rise?

Watch John Woo\'s Hard Boiled and the climactic hospital shoot-out...

The kung-fu scenes?

Like hearing Roseanne singing the national anthem...

Get someone whose forte is what you\'re attempting...

Get a real martial artist, please...

Some people are wowed by the special effects and story and proclaim it to be such a great action movie...

Yuen Woo Ping was wasted...

And Crouching Tiger\'s kung fu scenes sucked...
July 2002: If you had bought $1000.00 worth of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00. Enron, $16.50 left. Worldcom, $5.00 left. If you had bought $1,000.00 worth of Budweiser beer one year ago, drank it all and turned in the cans for the 10 cent deposit, you would have $214.00. Based on the above, my current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

As for a list of movies...

Action - Gun

John Woo\'s Hard Boiled, The Killer

Action - Martial Arts

Jackie Chan\'s Wheels On Meals, Dragon\'s Forever
Jet Li\'s Once Upon A Time In China series, Fist of Legend

Almost anything that stars any combo of the Seven Brothers from the Peking Opera School - Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, Yuen Biao, Yuen Wah etc.

Wheels On Meals - Pretty silly movie but those action scenes...

Dragons Forever - More believable story but once again, those action scenes...

Anyone seen Project A? That is the movie in which Jackie Chan suffered a nasty fall from a clock tower and landed right on his head...

Yet another silly movie but you don\'t watch action movies for the story and plot...

And one of Jet Li\'s first - Kids From Shaolin

You\'ve got a bunch of cute kids, each with more skill than the whole cast of The Matrix, combined. Great fun if you can stand the nauseating cute factor...

I sure hope that was not a reply to my post, because if it is then you\'ve clearly lost your mind as it has nothing to do with what I wrote.

Edit: Read it better. You still didn\'t answer the question, though.

I found the action scenes to be very good. Equilibrium\'s action scenes piss all over them from a great height, though.

Whatever. So you don\'t like it, but it\'s a good film: The average of about 3000 individuals says so.

And the gun fight at the end (where they were trying to get a shot at the other while keeping the other\'s gun away) was amazing. IMO, of course.

I\'m with MM on this one, equilibrium was a really stupid movie.
the storyline sucked total ass, and while the action scenes were sometimes quite spectacular, they are totally overdone. Did the hall shootout scene at the end remind anyone of a certain movie? (lmao)

still, even if the fighting would\'ve been good, everything else about was total crap.

please note that this is just my humble opinion. If you think otherwise, good for you! :)
