I am not a vegetarian, nor do I support PETA. Having said that, I think you people are making a mistake confusing PETA with Vegetarians.
PETA: Primary concern is preventing cruelty to animals. I think some of them might even be meat eaters, as long as the animals are killed in a humane way. They oppose corporate mass production methods of raising and slaughtering animals. They also oppose animal testing, which has nothing to do with the food industry.
Vegetarians: Don\'t eat meat, but possibly for a variety of reasons. Could be because they think animals have souls, or because because they agree with PETA\'s assertion that the animals were killed in a cruel manner. Actually however, I think most vegetarians don\'t give a CRAP about the animals. They don\'t eat meat because they think it\'s unhealthy for THEM.
