So I\'m talking with a classmate today and he tells me that rap sucks, with no exceptions. Positive, underground, gangsta, it doesn\'t matter. He doesn\'t like it because "they can\'t sing and they don\'t play instruments so it shouldn\'t even be considered music".
Now, I respect his opinion but when I told him that there are rappers/rap groups who sing and/or play their own instruments. He still says that they suck.
Now if you say that something is bad, without exception, and give reasons why. Shouldn\'t you reverse your position, at least a little bit, when someone gives you evidence contradicting your reasons?
On a related note, he thinks that singers like Whitney Houston, Kelly Clarkson, etc. suck because even though they can sing they can\'t play an instrument.
BTW, This is one of those guys that doesn\'t own a television and finds it necessary to tell you so whenever possible.
With all that said. What is it about your favorite music that non-fans hate the most?
