WTF Hell Boy
« on: April 03, 2004, 10:05:50 PM »
Man just got back from seeing this movie and boy do I want my 8.50 back.

What could have been a very good movie turned out to be the next big flop.

The movie tried to be too complex. Hell boy was just too over the top. The jokes where stale. The ending was god awful.

I don\'t think I wanted to see the sensative or the comedic side of hell boy.

I am not much into the comic book but are the villians in hell boy really that weak?

There was no strong villian is this movie. The guy who was suppose to be the top dog was very bland.

weak story good special effects.

I sure hope this movie does not open up with huge numbers. We don\'t need a part 2.

yea, it was pretty weak. Some parts were good most was kind of boring. The only cool character is the guy with the knives and the gas mask. And the ending was the worst. The first part of the ending was pretty predictable and the way end was way too fast.

Only funny part was that the theater was crowded and during a pause there was a second of no sound, then someone farted a squeeker and the whole theater was laughing but the old people. Then after everyone stopped laughing someone yelled "SOMEONE FARTED"...was funnier there.

Haha... those kind of times are always funny, even though they can be really disrupting...

I remember watching "Walking Tall", The Rock grabbed a piece of a tree and was about to hit this guy, and some Mexican guy in the crowd in a very thick Latino accent shouted, "HEET HIM IN DEE BALLS!"

Oh man I was laughing so hard, best part of that movie.

It was okay for me.  Some parts were a bit slow and I do agree that the way it ended was too fast.

I\'m not sure what complexity you\'re talking about, Quddus.  The movie could have done without the relationship between HB and Selma Blair\'s character but other than that I thought it was pretty straight forward...

I think it\'s the comedy that sets this movie apart from the other super hero films...the one liners were great.:D

The one-liners were good, and Hellboy had a good Duke Nukem-esque personality.

While I agree that it\'s probably not the best comic book adaptation I\'ve seen.. it\'s one of the best. I thought the action was well choreographed and I enjoyed the general mood of the film. The ending just signified what Hellboy is all about: This is his job, and he\'s gotta do it every day. There are no end-all-be-all villains.

I thought that feeling of "whatever" that H.B. emanated was one of the best parts.

I thought it was pretty damn good for a comic adaptation.  I didn\'t see anything complex about it at all -- it just did exactly as I expected -- presented a kick ass demon born hero who goes throughout the movie kicking lots of ass.  I thought the best part of the film was when he was tailing the other two members on their "date" and he told the kid he was on a mission.  Very cool scene.  Very well handled.  "Besides that... you\'re nine years old!"  haha, good stuff.

Well I don\'t know much about the comic book. So understand the whole story was kinda of complex. They never really explained what the hell they were trying to do.  I mean there was no clear explanation of the hell was going on.

And hell boy was a kick ass character but the one-liners were cheesy and stupid.

The movie had no plot. And the villians where some the worst I have ever seen in a movie.

If your a die hard hell boy your love it. Other than that there is no reason to go see this.

I havent\' seen the movie...but didn\'t Daredevil\'s main villan have the huge talent of like...shooting darts at people or some crap like that? I didn\'t see that one, either.

See Yuz.
What do Kerry Wood, Mark Prior, Matt Clement, and Carlos Zambrano have in common?

They\'re the pieces to the next great pitching rotation of our time, what else?

GO CUBS!

The villains had proper motivation -- one was a Nazi lunatic obsessed with unnecessary surgery, another was a Russian sorceror bent on bringing Hell to Earth to bring the apocolypse and rebuild the world in his own image, and the other was his nazi wife.  Hell Boy was brought to Earth through the portal that was created in the beginning of the movie and he would be the bringer of the apocolypse, but since he was taken care of by a very compassionate scientist, Hellboy grew up surrounded by things of good rather then evil and decided to serve on on the side of good.

Now, with the Russian sorceror reborn, he wishes to use an old near-indestructible enemy of the world to bring Hellboy and his paranormal research team to its knees and bring about the apocolypse he once envisioned by putting in danger the one weakness Hellboy has.

How was that too complicated?  How was there no plot?  Maybe you just have ADD.  You don\'t have to be a fan of the comic to appreciate the film at all as a lot of critics have never even heard of Hellboy the comic before this movie came out and still it is recieving very positive reviews.

I never liked daredevil and never said it was a good movie so I have no idea where that one even came from.

And I have to have ADD because this movie was the saddest comic book movie to hit the big screen sense the hulk?

I don\'t see how anyone can say this movie was anything but bad.

The villians sucked none of them where great. The whole surgery guy was just stupid. Sure his swords where cool but beyond that he lacked any substance.

the fighting of the squid-octupi become so repetative.  And as I left the theater everyone was saying how bad this movie was.

The only comic book movie I have even enjoy in the last decade was Batman. The first one was just brilliant.

oh and blade which is awesome.

Sure you guys probably love the comic book and have been waiting for this for so long. So too you it was all your hearts can desire. If you love the comic book your going to think this is god.

If your into decent movies I suggest you past on this big time.

Here is too blade3 which seems triumph them all.

Are you joking? Blade: Trinity, judging by all pre-hype and interviews is set to be complete crap. Much like Blade 2 was, in retrospect.

Blade 1 was 3x the movie Blade II was.  I hope #3 will redeem the series but considering how bad the 2nd one was I\'m not holding my breath.

Dumbest part of Blade 2:

Blade finds out Reinhardt double crosses him so he triggers the detonator to make his head explode, nothing happens.  Scud takes the explosive off Reinhardt\'s head and says, I\'m in on it too, blah, blah.  Blade says he knew all along  so he presses the detonator again and Scud explodes.  Who the hell wrote that?
