You know what is really pathetic, on both sides of ESPN and Madden.. Year after year we get small cosmetic changes and a few AI tweaks and it\'s repackaged as a new game. It\'s stuff that is so obviously held over, so they can throw it in the next year and tout it as a "new feature".  You basically pay for a new roster and slight AI tweaks.
Pathetic.

I would like to take the time to thank anybody who complimented this game for completely wasting my time.  I just played a handful of games with my buddy and even with it\'s nice presentation it just isn\'t good.  Welcome to the world of breaking atleast a couple tackles every play, and good luck trying to control someone cause each person has the mobility of a mack truck.  It just completely feels like the 2k games from the DC and thats not a good thing.

I hear that.  I\'m eagerly waiting for my madden 2005.  Just reading the "chalk talks" IGN has been doing about has me salivating.

ESPN 2K5 PLAYS LIKE ASS (although it does look mighty pretty)

You must be a complete ass at the game because tackles are hardly broken against me. I mean you can take a guy down in many ways.  If you have no idea what your doing sure a guy is going to break tackles. And in the NFL guys break tackles all the time. And guys get trucked all the time. But it seems like you have no idea what the hell your doing. But to each it\'s own

I was hoping someone would say that.   My friend is 5-0 online and I beat him in a game, then lost another.  My skill has nothing to do with it.  Someone like Priest Holmes is an absolute joke no matter if you try to wrap him up or just lay into him.  That and when the ball is in the air you don\'t have half the control of the person as you need to go dive and try to pick it off. I got a handful of interceptions still but the control really is pathetic.

i had to adjust my sliders for my defensive backs (dallas) as whenever the computer would throw the ball my db\'s would get burnt..a little troubling that i didn\'t have to do that last year...anyway that\'s my only complaint as i have eddie george in my roster so all is well...i will be getting the hdd soon...oh and this game still plays imo incredibly real... madden is not out yet so we\'ll see how it turns out,..espn last year might have actually made those cats to stop rehashin crap year after year...

Ok, after playing both games, it is clearly obvious that Madden 2005 is better than ESPN 2005.

This is a totally unbiased opinion of course.

Thank you all for your time.

I read that review.

Seems like he just likes the idea that a QB like Testeverde can scramble from line backers and how the running backs have the same ability.

I dont want Jerome Bettis juking defenders and spinning around safties

Sure ,  i think this year\'s madden has improved on last years game VERY little,  the smallest amount of improvement so far in the PS2 games.

But from what i\'ve read and heard,  ESPN isnt quite there yet.  And if they get there,  then i wont have any problem jumping the madden ship.

They just arent there yet,  but are improving by leaps and bounds.  I hope this worries EA

I\'d have to agree that both games are about even.

Maddens owener mode is better though, and that\'s why im gonna play it more.
It was a darkness all my own, a song played on the radio, It went straight to my heart - I carried it with me - until the darkness was gone.

Ok after playing this years madden I have to say I still prefer espn when it comes down to it. I am a defensive player and I don\'t fill that full control that I get in espn. As far as coverage goes I think you feel more like you have more control of your db\'s in madden.  And I have to say the running in espn is much more versitle.(IMO) The guys don\'t cutback like they do in espn.

This years madden felt a lot like last years madden to me. I won\'t purchase it anytime soon. My friend has it and we it through beating it up I will take his copy. Save the owner mode how can you pick madden over espn? Maybe I just have to buckle down and just put hours and hours into the game. Because people sware by madden. I just don\'t see it.
