There\'s a lot more action in this one, Vid, but surprisingly enough, there\'s nowhere near as much blood as the first (Spider-Man doesn\'t eat a pumpkin bomb or anything), but the fight scenes are much more well done. It\'s much more stylized, but there\'s no blood to really be seen even though plenty of scenes could have gone that way, Raimi never takes the extra step to add it.
So what\'s the ending all about?
Even though I put a spoiler warning in this thread, you do a diservice to yourself if you don\'t see what happens at the end first hand. However, some people don\'t want to see it so I\'m going to put it in the spoiler tags.
[sp]During the film, Doc Ock takes MJ hostage and after Peter rescues her, he unmasks to show Ock that he can be trusted to shut down his machine and tries to appeal to the human side of the machine (as Ock is basically two entities after he gets his tentacles) and achieves that goal. When he goes to leave as Ock sacrifices himself to stop the experiment, MJ sees him unmasked and finally understands what it is that\'s been happening in his life and why things for him are so complicated.
As a result, and after Peter finally confesses everything, MJ leaves her husband at the altar and goes to Peter\'s place to say that she\'s willing to face everything he and Spider-Man face on a daily basis as long as it\'s with him. As they kiss, Peter hears sirens in the background and he turns towards the open window to look at it, MJ turns his head back and says "Go get \'em, Tiger" and off he goes to rescue whatever.
Before all of that though, after Harry unmasks Spider-Man to reveal it\'s Peter Parker in his estate, Harry is totaly awestruck and filled with depression and anger after he leaves to go rescue MJ. Harry, totaly filled with anger, starts to hear the goblin laugh and his father(!) appears in the infamous mirror from the first movie telling Harry that now he knows what happened and it\'s time to avenge his death and when he yells no at his father, he throws a knife through the mirror to reveal a secret passageway and finds all of his father\'s gear from the Green Goblin including like 200 pumpkin bombs, the mask, and the glider.[/sp]
And that\'s about it. Totaly awesome ending.
You call over done whining a story. Ryu, u don\'t like other peoples opinions don\'t ask for them. When i go to see a action movie, i atleast expect there to be more action then soppy shit.
What whining was there? He\'s a man who is always getting the short end of the stick which is what Spider-Man is all about. I mean, he saves people countless times and he lives in a friggin dump and his regular life suffers as a result and when he makes a tough choice, the people he loves still end up getting hurt no matter what he does. It\'s a choice always presented in the comics and well done here in the film. I just don\'t understand what you mean by it being soppy (sappy?) shit. It was a really well told and engaging store. Shoot, just retyping the ending up above brought back lots of great memories of the film, which, not all of themby a long shot, are action oriented. I\'ll go as far as to say that even though the action was darn awesome, the majority of the best parts are the ones that make you laugh. I just don\'t see why that\'s a bad thing.
