OK, some clarification.
Venom is a villain who is indeed far down the line, but there have been many liberties taken with the series thus far. They did away with the whole Gwen Stacy arc and that was quite possibly one of the most defining moments in Spider-Man\'s illustrious superhero career. If they can do away with Gwen, then I predict Venom will be in the fourth film. There\'s a rumor going around that Raimi would like to film 3 and 4 back to back (EG: LOTR, Matrix 2 and 3), but the contract goes that Maguire, Dunst, Franco, and Raimi are only signed on for three movies and then quitting afterwards. The Spider-Man movies are however contracted for 7 installments no matter the cast or director.
Spider-Man 3 will be about Green Goblin 2 (Hob Goblin comes around far later) and he does nothing but go after Peter and his family. From my experience, an audience would absolutely hate that as that was what part one was all about basically. part 3 will probably do a double villain film with Green Goblin 2 and someone as yet unnamed. I wouldn\'t be surprised if they tossed the Rhino in there as a double threat -- have him get away, and do away with him in part 4 which is where I think the whole black spider and venom arc will come into play.
Venom is from either the Moon or from Mars -- I can\'t remember which in the shape of some black rock or some type of goo that comes back with John Jameson (J. Jonah Jameson\'s son -- the astronaut who was introduced in this film) and somehow finds its way to Peter who wears it just like his regular Spider-Man suit and it starts to take control of him and up the violence considerably which is where the Rhino takes a serious pounding and will go off the screen. After finally seeing himself in this situation, Peter ditches the suit -- or the suit gets away and feels seriously rejected and absolute hates Peter -- and finds somebody with just about as much hate for Peter in the form of Eddie Brock who was introduced by name only in the first film. When Jameson offers a cash reward for pictures of Spider-Man, just before hand, one of his workers says "Eddie\'s been on it for weeks and can barely get a glimpse of this guy" and Eddie hates Parker as he\'s the one who always brings in these astonishing shots that Eddie can never land of the wall crawler. Once the suit and Eddie merge, the two form Venom and have an all out fight with Parker that would be totaly awesome on screen.
It\'s also important to note that the sonic weapon that can defeat Venom is created by Dr. Connors (also introduced in this film as the one armed professor) and it\'s totaly possible that he\'ll be the second villain in the third film in the form of the Lizard. I\'m just trying to throw options out there. Only the Rhino could take the pounding Peter puts on when he dawns the Black Spider outfit.
