I pay 10 bucks a month for my HD Reciver from Cox it includes the HD "Stations" as far as I can tell There are about 6 stations EspnHD.. The NEtwork Stations.... DiscoveryHD and an HBO and something not alot to choose from. I cant get HD from a regular station right I mean it has to be from a special "HD" station like the EspnH station or am I wrong. Also satelite has tone more doesnt it.

I get Showtime, HBO, ESPN, Discovery, Bravo, HDNet, HDNet movies, FOX, CBS, ABC, NBC, PBS, UPN, and WB.  I think that covers it.  Direct TV bill is 60 some odd bucks a month.  I paid 40 bucks lst month because I had some credit.  I only have two receivers though.  Both are TiVos.

ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, UPN, WB are all OTA.

Although depending on if you live in a city that is an O&O, Direct TV now offers CBS and will very very soon have FOX and NBC.

Bravo has been on Direct TV for several weeks now.  Since the beginning of the US Open Tennis.

Cable companies will never come close to the content that satellite providers can put out.  Direct TV is going to be launching 4 new satellites next year.  All for HD.  That is very intriguing.

Sorry, I\'m on a 2 hour conference call right now so hopefully I make sense.  My head is pounding.

video have you looked at http://www.voom.com ?  I\'ve heard both good and bad things about it when people compared it to DirecTV.  And is TCM available in HD?

voom has more channels, but they are just a bunch of crappy channels.  Everything that Voom has that is a real channel Direct TV has as well.  Plus Direct TV is adding 1700 channels in the next two years.  That\'s huge.

Plus you can\'t record Voom.  I Can record two HD channels while watching something else.

Direct tv sucks got it had it switched back to comcast. Maybe it\'s because I have had cable all mylife. Direct TV just made things to complicated.

And having to pay for locals was rather stupid. Who knows maybe in a year or two when it gets better I may take a look at it again.

You do realize that you pay for locals with cable too right?  Direct TV just gives you the option to not pay for locals.

You don\'t have to pay for local channels if you don\'t want to.  Just get a VHF antenna and plug it into your satellite receiver.  Run the setup program, and presto.  Free local channels.

Kind of odd to once again have a roof top antenna.  I remember having one when I was a kid.
