now i dont know if the educational system in your country sucks, or your reading comprehension is just terrible, but sales = king is my famous quote before you race off to hunt it down.

this does not imply the game is good or not. what is does prove, is market trends. [/B]

Thats a nice joke. You are american and sometimes you make more mistakes in your English than I do.

Then stop complaining all the time why a game doesnt sell well because it doesnt "satisfy trends" since you care soooo much about good gaming and enjoy a good game for once.

You are a hardcore gamer wannabe.Get it?

Well if Bungie didn\'t get into financial trouble to have M$$$$DOLLARSIGN$$$$RICHGREEDYUNLIKESONY$$$$$ bail them out then you still have the most powerful console out.  Burnout 3 is available for both PS2 and Xbox but Xbox has progressive scan, decent DD5.1 audio, custom soundtracks and a smoother framerate at 60fps solid.  The same game was also rated higher for Xbox rather than PS2 by the mainstream reviewers.

Not a huge fan of the Xbox, but just for argument\'s sake... both consoles are popular.  I know you\'re just saying this stuff for your own entertainment, but I\'m bored.

Heh.

Still, you didn\'t answer my question, bro.

while we\'re talking about moot points
imagine for a second, if you will, that m$ never bought the rights to halo and it remained a mac project.

would the xbox have ended up like the 3do?  take away all the ports also, and what are you left with?

Several quality titles that stand on their own just fine? 0_o

But if HALO was never in the picture, it\'s debatable if we\'d even have those said titles. So it probably would have become another 3D0.

Images can be found in the Bungie Weekly Update Thread, guys.

Preorders pour in

Halo 2 has gone gold.

With preorders close to 2 million before its Nov. 9 release, Halo 2 has become a blockbuster before a single copy has shown up on store shelves.

Okay.

So, how many preorders until it\'s considered impressive? :p

mm, your ignorance is showing...

no, my point was that just about any title (even spongebob - battle in bikini bottom) can make over a million sales and make platinum list

"Platinum" sales for video games have different requirements than album\'s.  Take the PS2 for example, the requirement to be a Greatest Hit is to sell over 400,000 units and only kicks in 9 months after release.
>>>Link<<<

The Platinum Hits program on the Xbox has a much more vague concept.  From what I can tell a game just has to sell "well" and be out for 9 months before it\'s considered for platinum status.

oh, and many people liked halo and it has a huge fanbase because it had ZERO competition. this was already said pages ago....

That doesnt\' seem to matter.  The game is still in the top 10, as Nu pointed out, despite there being many options on other consoles...Red Faction, Time Splitters, Eden, etc.

Halo is just really good at what it does, that seems to be enough for people.  Get over it.

and roughly 20% of the original owners have preorderd, thats hardly alot

One, the preorders/presales aren\'t over yet.  Two, bet you can\'t name 5 other console games that have achieved those numbers pre-release...ever.  Three, find out just how many games actually reach one million sales.  You\'ll find it\'s a very elite crowd.

easily explainable ! microsoft is king at screwing people off :) if a game still sell good after the 9 month mark, they arent gonna make it platinum and lower the price, since people still buy it at higher price anyway !
can\'t see why not!

You\'re the one running around in circles, you\'ll end up quitting this long before I will or have you already forgotten about the Fable thread?;)

If I\'m not mistaken there were several FPS available on PS2 before the release of Halo and there have been a few released since.  Yet, people keep buying Xbox\'s and Halo...can you explain that?

Can you explain why Halo is still in the top 10 sales in North America while the other FPS have dropped off the radar?  Could it possibly be because Halo is just a good game?  Care to explain otherwise?

Alright, let\'s just end this discussion with this.

FPS > Console > Crap
FPS > PC > Good

HALO > Over-rated.

DOOM 3 > Average

Half-Life > Excellent

Sales > King

Therefor..

Halo > King of console FPS > but FPS on console is crap?

Oh and HALO 2 already pirated.
