IGN reports the big N saying it\'ll be 2-3 times more powerful than GC. I think they\'re just being very conservative again.

If that the case then why even bother 2 - 3 x\'s wouldn\'t even be worth the effort IMO.

It has to be a typo, especially looking at the PS3 and Xbox 360 being exponetially more powerful then their predecessors.

They say they are exponetially more powerful but do you really think thats true in the sense that it implies? I surely dont. Theres no doubt that the games will look leaps and bounds better but exponetial infers something completely different. Im sure Nintendo wont just jump into a completely lost battle.

Yeah I\'m a little liberal with the term exponetially here but, both Xbox360 and PS3 have 10 + times the memory, and 10 + times the processor speed, and probably 10 + times the bandwidth. They are both using improved cutting edge technologies and when you put all those factors together you are getting a machine that is much more powersul then the predecessors. Dare I say about 1000 times more powerful, which is not exponetial in the extreme sense but it can be displayed in exponetial form.

Personally I don\'t think Nintendo really has the means to keep up in the hardware race.  I felt this way last generation. They are great game makers, but the hardware battle is becoming a very large and expensive investment especially with Sony and MS pushing each other to the limits.

Not sure what to expect with Nintendo, but 2  - 3 times won\'t cut it.

Because PS2 was more powerful than GameCube?

Go back to the hole you were in and regain whatever common sense you use to have.

clam down little man. You haven\'t changed a bit.

I felt that way based upon what it takes to fund a console, the amount of money you have to lose on hardware sales and make up on software sales, and the resources MS and Sony have at their disposal.

Nintendo is just not in the same league fiscally as Sony and MS. Sony also built numerous chip production plants where they can output there own chips and cut out the middle man. I just don\'t think Nintendo can continue to compete at the level they would want to for consoles. I honestly thought Gamecube would be the last Nintendo console and they would start making games cross platform.

Now jumpdude, take a step back, regain your composure, and realize that people are allowed to feel whatever way they like. Wether or not my feelings are correct or not are irrelevant, I made a predicition back then and obviously I was wrong. I\'m not going to get bent out of shape about it. nintendo knows what they want to achieve and they know there market and where they can profit.

Have a nice day  :stick:

Nintendo has $7 BILLION just sitting in the bank.  That\'s a helluva lot of capital to work with.  They\'ve also been in the business the longest.

I see your concern but I wouldn\'t count Nintendo out just yet.  System specs/capabilites and most importantly, games aren\'t even announced.

I\'m watching the conference and this guy Iwata is BRUTAL. He has been talking for about 10 minutes about the Revolution and he has said absolutely nothing. Why talk about Miyamoto\'s innovative work on the revolution and then say but it is a secret.

This media conference is worse than that Xbox 360 thing on MTV. GAWD.

Its like they are all making it up as they go.
