well i\'ll just say my bit on the colts game..i didn\'t see it all i actually came in on it when polymumu or whatever his name is intercepted it...and as much as i wanted the colts to win it, that was clearly an INT. that said tho...the steelers themselves had the game won and bettis coughs it up at the goal line. Manning got that team down the field in a hurry. and when it was 3rd and 2? i would\'ve ran the ball to give vanderjact a shorter kicking distance,....but still that s**t was unreal..this guy is usually "clutch" under pressure..:(...i guess that timeout the syeelers called really f**ked up his mental...dude looked like he was gonna cry...i really wanted the colts to go to the superbowl and win it....with the pats out of it i was sure that this was they\'re year,...add to the fact that with dungy\'s personal problems,..what better way to end the year with a ring.

whelp at this point i guess i\'ll be cheering for the panthers. i\'ve read in a coulpe of posts earlier that the panthers were acting like assholes after the win.....i didn\'t see that game either,..maybe it was just a case of them just being "amped" about the win. heh heh somebody mentioned year of the underdogs earlier..:p..i\'d have to agree with that...even tho i did expect carolina to beat chicago...

ESPN is reporting that Pats defensive coordinator Eric Mangini has agreed to terms with the NY Jets and will be their Head Coach next season.

Can\'t say that I\'m happy to see him go but I do like the idea of Pepper Johnson potentially filling his spot. I have heard a lot about the Jets owner being obsessed with emulating the Patriots\' style but I never really experienced it until this moment. This may have been a hasty decision but only time will tell.

Interesting sidenote. Had the Bills gotten Weiss to sign with them the entire AFC East would now be coached by Belichick and his extended family of coaches.

There was nothing wrong with Edwards and the Jet\'s, other than the fact they was plagued by injuries. Oh well. I think he\'ll find success with the Chiefs.

I agree. I don\'t know why the Jets fans seem to hate dude so much.

Exactly. I mean, when Pennington and the rest of the crew was healthy they did have succesful a succcesful season. Like I said, Edwards should find succes with the Chiefs. And if the Jet\'s want  longterm succes, then they need to find another QB, because at this point Chad is simply to beat up.

they have more than a few problems. they can wait a year or two before going after the secondary, but the qb and rb problems are HUGE.

Blaylock was good in the chiefs system and is as much of a question mark as a broncos running back who goes into a different system. No idea how he will do or if hell be injury prone.

Your right about qb though..at least get an aaron rodgers equivalent that may not be a "PUT HIM AS THE STARTER NOW" kind of rookie, but will be lined up to be the next qb if need be.

They need a slot reciever too.

Edwards pretty much left them with some huge question marks to go to a team that has an awesome offense, larry johnson, and a defense with potentially good players (bell, surtain, wesley, jared allen). Im actually waaayyy more worried about the chiefs than the chargers

Reminds me of John Elway,  BUT,  Peyton has the best offensive team he\'ll ever have RIGHT now.  Hes not going to get a better James or a better receiever then Harrison.  He has 1-2 more years at MOST before Harrison and James become too old and slow down.  Its going to be hard to impossible to replace those players.  And by the time they leave their prime Peyton will be well on his way.

I love how the Colts haters want to lay the blame all on Manning. None of it goes to VANDERJACT, none of it goes to the offensive line for collapsing and none of it goes on the defense for all those missed tackles. It was obviously MANNING\'s fault. Just like it was obviously Brady\'s fault on Saturday, right?

I\'m not getting on Manning for just this one game.  He has a long history of not performing in clutch situations.  His playoff record is 3-6 for a reason.   Terry Bradshaw tore into him not only for calling out his O-Line  but for his performance in the playoffs.

Looks like the Chargers have put together the recipe to beat the Colts.  Before teams used to be scared to death to blitz the Colts,  like the Rams.  Now its just  a matter of time before the Colts suffer the Rams fate.  Maybe next season?

Theres only a handful of teams that have a great front 7/decent secondary like the chargers and the steelers. And of those handful, a small amount of them actually play the colts. So you\'re partially right because i think the colts will always end up playing a team built like the chargers and steelers (steelers obviously a little better/more physical) that can blitz the colts well enough to not give manning enough time to do his thing in the playoffs to knock them out.

Mark my words, after that loss and the free agents during this offseason, Colts won\'t even make it to playoffs next year.

I dunno how the Colts offensive line will react to Peyton\'s remarks about "protection". He said it  like he got fucked without a condom or something.

That is one things..

Another is Vanderjact may be let go. I think his contract is up  and even if it isn\'t, it is well known he isn\'t liked by upper-mangement, not to mention he done the same thing last year with the opening game against NE..

Reggie Wayne and Edge are both free agents after this year also.

Dungy hasn\'t won a SB, the Colts was counting on winning it this year, due to the fact they have a new state of the art dome being built.

There will be a lot of changes during this off-season and the Colt\'s won\'t be a top ranked team come next year.

The colts are gonna be a contender as long as they have Manning on one side of the ball and Freeney on the other.  They may not run through the league like they did early this year without Edge and Wayne, but they won\'t fall out of it THAT much either.

Basically, this team has the same problem they always have.  They\'re too soft.  Manning didn\'t have the time he was accustomed to, and it clearly got to him.  He is one of the smartest QB\'s in the league, but if you don\'t have time to think, that means nothing.  The Colts won all year by dictating the pace of the game on offense.  It\'s what they were known for.  The Steelers dictated the pace when the Colts were on offense, and that\'s why they won.

The difference between this team and the Rams super bowl team is the Rams offense, in many ways, started with their O-Line.  The only #1 pick I can think of on that offense was Orlando Pace.  Warner had time to make his reads and make the right pass, and Faulk had time to rip off a few game breaking runs.  They had some weapons, but it all has to start from the lines.  Peyton was right about his O-Line (though I don\'t know he should have called them out like that).
