Like Eik said, it is hard to say how the PS3 will do beyond launch. We all know that it is a gurantee\'d success on launch day, but once the holiday craze calms down, MS does a price drop and Nintendo launches at around $250, how will the $600 dollar system fare? I\'m guessing it\'ll lose steam fast and force Sony to do a price drop come holiday season of \'07.
Nintendo has a chance to pick up a lot of the market this come around, provided they do the right marketing. Something they can\'t do is become forgotten in the midst of the Sony hype - that\'s one of the big things that killed the Dreamcast. Some aggressive marketing, solid launch titles (No Mario on launch is already a big dissapointment) and cheap price tag could really help Nintendo. Not to mention people are buying the DS and lovin\' it.
MS, on the other hand, I would imagine will throw in a price drop sometime next year (this holiday season would be too nice) and undercut Sony some more. The worst part is, Sony\'s new price tag makes the 360 look like a deal (let\'s not argue about the lack of Blu-Ray, average consumer does not loko at that). Throw in a price cut sometime next year, Halo 3 and a few other titles and I think MS has a decent chance of fixing what they broke with the Xbox 360 botched launch.
