I heard that PS3 support 1080p output for the analog connection too, which should fine for buyers that are planning on getting $500 version.
Riku,
honestly in my opinion, I doubt ICT will ever be implement on the majority of either HD-DVD or Blu Ray discs because seriously, who here are going to make copy of High def video in analog connection?
Very rarely will you see a high def analog input connection for recording on consumer video recorder.
Look at dvd recorder, you do see composite and s-video input and output, and a component video output, but no component video input. Some better one have firewire connection, which is a digital connection...
And where are you going to record that analog connection to? VHS VCR? VHS is low resolution of 240 x 480i i think, and they don\'t have component video input or output for that matter.
Because of those facts, studios were open minded about it and doesn\'t have to worry and so they decided not to implement ICT on HD video discs.
its the digital connection where they are a lot more concern, and hence they have serious copy protection like HDCP, AACS to prevent you from making perfect copy off the disc from blu ray writer, and from a digital connection...
