Croc Hunter Steve Irwn dies

CNN front page ftw.

Like him or not, Irwin was very entertaining.  Very sad to see him go.

Very unexpected to see him die, especially at that age when he\'s still young.  I thought it was a hoax when i first read the news, just to find out it was true...Rest In Peace...

didn\'t even know stingray tail can be that deadly...

when you fuck around with the sort of animals he did, sooner or later your number is going to come up.

Ironic death to say the least. Was doing a doc on dangerous ocean life, stingrays are very placid creatures.

That\'s what surprised me the most, whenever you go to marineland or dive in the ocean, they\'re always telling you how the stingray is a gentle creature, like a sea-cow.

funny you should say that, I said virtually the same thing on another forum.

In my minds eye, I saw him practically wrestling with it.

Normally I would care, but after I watched him dangle his little infant in front of giant croc, I lost all respect for him.

those that are surprised...how can you be? He played the odds for a long time. Im surprised it didnt happen sooner.

As for the stingray..im sure he did provoke it as rays usually dont attack people. even when stepped on, they still swim away most of the time.

Yeah- he has been in many close accidents before, this was just the one that got \'em.

I wish a gator got \'em though, would\'ve been much cooler.
