xbox 360 vs ps3 graphically...

found this over at gamespot...i guess it\'s kinda unfair since ps3 just came out, but it is supposed to be generally more powerful than the 360....maybe it comes down to the skill of the programmers?...whatever the case it\'s still a pretty interesting comparison.....

no matter what, theyre going to be identical for a while. Fight night round 3 has "veins" and stuff, so i guess there\'s more power in the ps3..but maybe its because they had more time to touch the game up since FNR3 was a launch game (im pretty sure..i wasnt paying attention to xbox back then).

I hear both sides say theyre better. Assassin\'s Creed will have better AI in the 360 because the ps3 cant handle it..random shit like that. If you\'re mm, you might be able to nitpick enough to find a better of the two. But for the most part, the only people that will be saying one\'s better than the other are the idiots who wont just enjoy the system they bought without trying to justify not buying the other one.

When I saw Resistance I thought it looked just as good as Gears. And that\'s a launch title vs. something of a second wave title.
 
I believe that PS3 might have an edge with its tech, but it\'s a tight race. When you have graphics so high end, it\'s hard to notice the differences anyway.
 
One day a company will decide that improving the graphics is no longer the most worth while thing to do, and they\'ll focus on changing some other aspect of gaming as well. ;]

The more complex graphics become, the more evident any faulty sub element of those graphics will be.

Slowly but surely, we\'re seeing graphical features, previously exclusive to pre rendered CGi, seep into real time game engines. I notice, even alot of game editors are not noticing these when they\'re actually in some of the newest games.

are you talking about the 360 controller? Cause I for one really like the design of it. The only problem I have with it is the d-pad, but I hardly ever need to use that anyway...

eik... No way does resistance look as good as gears of war. As of now, 360 games look slightly better than ps3, although, of course, ps3 games are mostly ports of the xbox version. only the future will tell whether or not ps3 is gonna surpass the 360 though....

nice comparison.  I agreed as of right now, it seems like the 360 have the edge over PS3 graphically since 360 has been out for a year while ps3 just came out very recently.

Such old news. Ubi\'s statement about the optimizing for Xbox360\'s triple cores had been misinterpreted by press into \'a lesser Ai PS3 version\' ; it has already officially been debunked by Ubi itself.

I\'ve never seen resistance in action. Just some videos and screenshots. But resistance looked like it only had really cool guns.

Like..after playing gears of war and rainbow six, i thought the lost planet MP demo was boring as hell because the other 2 set the bar really high. So in terms of gameplay, I think gears of war had the better idea. And in terms of that, it doesnt matter when the game is released since concepts come out way before. The problem is the only really cool, inventive gun in gears of war is the bow and arrow that shoots grenades. The hammer of dawn is really gay IMO.

I dont have sources..I just heard about it. I didnt hear UBI debunk the rumor though. I actually thought i heard it from that chick that introduced the game video at that 360 fiesta thing in an interview. But for all i remember it mightve been a 360 interview and they put a spin on it.

Like some members have said, why many xbox360 games look better than ps3 is because they are probably ported from 360 to ps3.

I suppose Resistance looks better on ps3 than those games because it wasn\'t ported from a different console.  It was built from the ground up for ps3.  As whether Resistance looks as good as Gears of War, that\'s debatable.  Me personally, I think Gears of War have the graphical advantage there.  I think as of right now, the only game that really look as good as Gears of War graphically is Motorstorm which is slated to come out in 2007.

This reminds me of how the Dreamcast games looked as good or better than PS2\'s launch titles. But a year later, PS2 games became more polished and left DC games in the dust. However, i think DC wasn\'t fully pushed to its limits before the developers dumped it.

I think the same will happen with PS3 and the 360. PS3 will later get better and better games. And if the Xbox history repeats itself, the 360 will become mostly a FPS console while the PS3 will be the all around genre console.

pretty true. But, this is the first console that can actually handle good FPS games. I mean, i was a hardcore PC FPS guy..and im actually enjoying GoW (i know its not FPS..same idea), Rainbow Six, Call of duty, then theyve come a long way. So i think ps3 will have the same amount of FPS\'s as xbox. halo series is going to be the one that will make it seem like an FPS console

But by the time, i think, the ps3 will pull ahead, itll be cheaper and ill own one so the point is moot ..since im the only one that really matters in the scheme of things

in other news..assassin\'s creed got delayed to 2007/2008. Pretty disappointed. Seems like its going to be one of those games that\'s either so huge it takes forever to release, or theyll release it too early and it wont be nearly as good as it should be.
