Therefore it should never have been deemed illegal by government in the first place........

It\'s doesn\'t matter what you care more about. It matters that some gay couples care not only that they have their right to a union but that they want it to be a marriage. It means something to them which is what makes it worth changing.

You said earlier that with black and white separate-but-equal bathrooms, the facilities were hardly equal. So that justified for you that in this case, separate but equal would be ok - because it\'d actually be equal. But separate is shitty, too, and you have to understand that part.

It\'s kind of like the idea of a "kiddy table." We tell kids to go eat at the kiddy table. It\'s the same as our table and they\'ll eat the same food so it\'s all equal. Except that kids still know they\'re being placed on a different level than the adults. One day, they hope to eat at the grownup table, and that\'s the difference between having a "civil union" and having a "marriage." It\'s the same shit, but an entirely different status. You want to fix this for real, you let gay couples have a "marriage".

There actually is a bit more to this one than just the rights. I used to feel the same way as you do, but that\'s not good enough for some gay couples and they\'re right. It\'s not even worth the energy to fight it, it\'s just a title.

So if I find enough people that want to marry their pets we should allow it?  Who are you to tell them they can\'t marry their cat or dog or whatever?  We wouldn\'t want to sit them at the kiddy table either, the "beasties" have as much of a right to marriage as gays and lesbians.  So as long as we\'re making the argument that all that matters is what those involved care about, why stop at gay marriage?

I dunno, it seems like your being rather selective with your freedoms.

What Kennedy gave an example of is an extreme case.  What about polygamists?  What about pedophiles?  You open the door to a lot of issues.  Leave marriage as between man and woman and give the queers civil unions with all the benefits under law of marriage.  Which is what this is really about.  Simple enough.

Face it, a majority of people in this country don\'t want gay marriage to be recognized.  How many fucking times does this have to be voted on?  California voted it down at least twice that I know of, yet "progressives" like the Mayor of San Francisco decided all by himself that they should be legal.  Will of the people?  Hardly.  More like dictatorship.

And it gets closer to passing each time it gets on the ballot....

Do you think different types of people should have separate restrooms and the same rights?

I dont know why it is anyones business in the first place..... It does not affect ANYONE but those that want to be married.

Different people do have to use seperate restrooms and do have the same rights - men\'s rooms and women\'s rooms.  Nice try though.

Whatever... The people of the country don\'t want it and shouldn\'t be forced to accept it.  They are not being discriminated against.  Civil Unions are the same the fucking thing.  Marriage has always been traditionally between a man and a woman - along come some whiney fags who want the same title... tough.  It doesn\'t work that way.  Accept the title of partnered, union, whatever - they have the exact same rights.

You wanna play semantics...ok..

Should whites, blacks..mexicans....be forced to use different bathrooms yet have the same rights?

That is the problem within itself. It has NOTHING to do with people other than the ones that want to get married to a same sex partner.

BTW, they are being discriminated against far and wide b/c in many places they do not have the same rights as married couples.

Thankfully, homophobes like you will probably end up having to live with same sex couples being "married" using the term marriage in your lifetime. :)

You can make all the arguments you want, but when push came to shove, more people didn\'t want it, than wanted it, that\'s democracy.

Some day gay marriage will be legal everywhere in this country, and you Giga will still be sitting in your lazyboy complaining about "whiney fags."  Your grandchildren will snicker about your many prejudices, but our country will move forward without you.

Clueless as usual.  My children and grandchildren will not be indoctrinated by the pc police and queer activists.

And luckee, I for one will never refer to those people as being married.  Civil unions are legal contracts - which would resolve this perceived discrimination you are seeing.  When you get married you have to go get a license, which technically marries you right then and there.  The church just does a ceremony.  Therefore, marriage is a religious issue.  I also like the label you and other faggots throw around about being a homophobe if you disagree with them.  In all honesty, I really don\'t care what label you put on me, but I thought I would point out the common tactic used by people like you.

The common tactic you people always throw in the mix always has to do with religion.

There are many religious fags...even though their own religion condemns them.

Funny how there are many agnostic and atheists that get married....

This is about religion b/c the bible told me so...lol

Mind your own fuckin business and let those that want to be happy do so. I don\'t know why it gets under the skin of so many people when it has nothing to do with how they live their lives.

Using the term marriage for them would not change your life one iota.

If marriage is a religious institution, then why would it not be ok for a Church that believes in gay marriage to marry two gay people?

There were also supposed to be provisions in the way our country was founded to avoid tyranny of the majority, so people\'s rights aren\'t taken away by the most bigoted members of our society based on little but irrational hatred and lack of understanding, or their own misguided feelings or superiority (looking at you Giga).  Nice to know you\'ll be passing that ignorant hate to subsequent generations.  You are truly the embodiment of what keeps our country from moving forward.

There were times when a majority of people in many states were in favor of slavery as well.  Didn\'t make it right.

Giga is going to be one of those parents that makes damn sure he teaches all the hate he can muster to his children.

Love how you say you aren\'t a homophobe but in the same breath refer to gays as "whiney faggots"

Homophobe implies that I would be afraid of gays.  Quite to the contrary, I do not fear them, I just don\'t like them.  Therefore you are incorrect as is the term that is aimed at everyone who doesn\'t like them.
