I sometimes really wonder if is going to sell at all. It had better be darn cheap with some sort of subscription for a few months chucked in. It really should have been a pack-in.

I\'ll pay $40 for the ethernet adapter before I even think of buying another console

Actually I doubt I will buy another console this year. The PS2 will have close to 20 kick ass games being released from November through Xmas, who would have time to play a 2nd console ????????


and no game will use the HD. The HD will be for multimedia internet stuff, not games. Maybe extra levels and stuff but no game will ever be loaded to Sony\'s harddrive cause I seriously doubt alot of people will buy the HD add-on.

It\'s about time. They\'re also making a version of RealPlayer and Shockwave just for PlayStation 2. And Netscape is also making a web browser designed specifically for it.

it will have both broadband and dial-up connection...this will be a well accepted add-on,despite a few here on this forum who don\'t want it,but i will all but guarantee success for it,Playstation gamers have been waiting for this moment for awhile now (the majority of owners won\'t be forking out for another new console anyways)...all the people i know who have PS2\'s are highly anticipating the hdd / online adapter.

If there will not be enough purchasers to warrant making a game for the HDD then why would they make online games?

Bah! I only support Nintendo or Sega add-ons. Sony (and MS) can shove their addons up their asses. Besides, I already think they will fail.

The ethernet / 56k modem adapter is sold seperately from the Hard Drive

If they don\'t forcefully bundle the HD with the ethernet adapter no companmy can program an Online game to run with the HD. The HD is for Sony\'s broadband plan of streaming data like Movies music and all other kinda of techincal set top box goodies.

if you are going to just online game then all you need is the ethernet / 56k modem adapter.

Whoa, slow down, Eagle Scout. I was not questioning whether or not you recieved the "Sony Add-on Sage Merit Badge" but in THAT pic it looks to me as if they are attached to each other. If it is like you say then it will be an even BIGGER failure than I previously thought. Now they want to sell TWO add-ons? What good is the HDD without the modem?

BTW, What is Kapeche\'? Is that a french pastry? If you were trying to spell what I think, you were trying to spell, you are WAAAAAAAAAYYYY off. I think I might have a Kapeche\' for breakfast today. :laughing:

the i really want the broadband access...i suppose the hard drive add on would be good for improving onloine capabilities as well...eh...ill have the moonay hopefully, so ill prolly get it.  My friends are getting the other consoles, so i dont need to worry about buying them

Im getting the HDD & BB adaptor too! (if its not tooo expensive!)

Who can live without Twisted Metal Online, SOCOM, Tekken 4 (I hope its online) FFXI, THPS3???? (all online gamez!)
