Bring it on SONY!

Fastson, if Sony released Ken Kutaragi\'s dried feces wrapped in tin foil with "PS2" on it, you would buy it.
When all is said and done...the PS2 will be remembered as the console with the best games in Fall 2001.

Here\'s a proven formula:

add-ons=failures

 Your lucky we don\'t know each other in person...

Name any add-on that succeeded. You can\'t. None have. And Sony won\'t break that cycle anytime soon.

There havent been so many addons...

Sonys wont be a failure! (Im pretty sure, cuz Sony are good at marketing, and very good at hardware)

:)

-SegaCD
-32X
-N64DD

These have been horrible failures and have all made an impact on their respected companies. It doesn\'t matter if there hasn\'t been so many because the basic idea of an add-on is terribly flawed. You have to spend a lot of time and resources into it, a lot of money,  you have to guess at the number of people who will buy them, and developers will have to do that too. Trust me, Sony probably won\'t make any money off of their add-on.

Marketing won\'t save them since Sega did a really good job with marketing the 32X and it still failed. And PS2 isn\'t exactly the world\'s best hardware. Developers will disagree with what you just said...

I seriously want to believe that you are joking.

There is no way that the add-on will even crack HALF of the PS2\'s installed user base. Take into acount that the PS2 already has a huge user base and the fact that if this add-on is more expensive than the average game then it will NOT sell. Even though Sony has all those excellent people working in marketing. Maybe if they tell us about the HDD/BB adapter that will be released in the year 2034 it will make people buy the ones out now.

Actually, not all add-ons have failed. Just think about the N64 Expansion Pak.
While only 2 or so games actually require it (btw those 2 games were huge sellers, Majora\'s Mask and Donkey Konk 64) many others can utilize it for bigger levels, more characters, ect.
It had a pretty good user base as well.

Don\'t Forget Perfect Dark , you had to have the expantion pack or you only got half the game.

Even if the HDD doesn\'t rack up sales the network adaptor will attract many people. Especially at such a cool price.
