I have a really hard time to try to understand the religious people here. I find it sometimes hopeless to try to make my point. I talked to a religious friend today. I asked him about the bible and how the bible should be read. When i asked him about dinosaurios in the bible he said, no way there is no dinos in the bible.
It seems like people read the bible the way they want. my friend said that the bible should be read word by word.
Science is not like this, we are more openminded. When someone comes with a new theory some people says it wrong and some follow the theory. Later the theory becomes a fact and the scientists all over the world changes there minds and follow the new thery. religious people don´t seem to do this, they stay still, they never change their minds.
No one have answered my question about What makes your religion and God right amongst the thousands of religions and Gods?
How old is the Earth?
You must have skipped over a couple of my posts!
I\'m more of an open-minded religious person myself. And in answer to your question about which god is the right god:
Before I stated that most religions worship the same entity, but see that entity in a different form(s). There is no humanly-comprehendable "true" form of this entity. I think Altered Beast argued against my point, but nevertheless, it\'s an answer to your question.
About the age of the Earth, I already stated that I can\'t give you a number. There is a "science circle" and a "religious circle" on this particular debate. Neither circle has a concrete number to give, but a couple "ball-park" figures. There is a pooint in which these two circles overlap, which gives us the most agreed upon numbers. It depends upon a literal/non-literal translation of the Bible. Was the world
really created in 7 days? Or did a day last 1000 years? I guess I won\'t find out until I get the chance to ask God in person.
Many religious people are closed-minded about everything. But then again, so are a lot of scientists!
No one easily gives up or "bends" their beliefs. It\'s a "Fact of Live." (Now I have that song stuck in my head!)
