You\'ll have to pardon me, but I\'m going to believe my friend with the Mormon parents, rather than the faceless names I see here, that throughout this thread have contradicted the beliefs of the Mormons I see face-to-face.

The reform takes place in the RedCliffs, Utah.

Your story sounds quite true to me. Altered, you think everything is BS that you don\'t like to hear don\'t you?

Actually, the polygamists live in Northern Utah and in Southern Idaho.  There are actually more polygamists living in Idaho than in Utah.  That\'s not really important, but I thought you would want to know. :)

wait a second...Titan and luckee, you guys are Mormon???? No? So you have no idea what I am talking about then.

The LDS church would NEVER condone something like this. period. What might be is the excommunicated Mormons from Northern or Southern Utah who believe they are still LDS, even though they aren\'t, do this. Or people who aren\'t right in the head that just happen to be (although it would ALWAYS be made the central focus) Mormon hold this Redcliffs, which, for my money, I still can\'t believe it is. I go to Utah twice a year, have my whole life. Most of my relatives live in Utah, plus I am a member of the church. I think I would know if this story was BS a little more than you.

"Oh I agree with you, buddy!!! Down with Mormonism, wheeeee!!!"

They found a dinosaur with feathers.  I mean like, duh...   Of course there were dinosaurs with feathers.  I mean crap, everything was created at the same time, right?  Of course there were dinosaurs with feathers.  Heck, there were humans too back then.  It was only a couple thousand years ago.

If the Dinosaurs and humans lived together, how could the humans have survived?

What do you mean?  We are fast and wiley.  Plus we had the big ark.

Wait, that reminds me, how did Noah fit the Brontosaurus on the arc?

Well that isn\'t too far from the truth.  It\'s sad, but very true, our church is hated and in some cases feared because of our beliefs.  Lies are started and spread quickly throughout other religions about our religion.  Heck, some people still believe that Mormons have horns.

Of course he thought of that.  That is why he is questioning the credibilty of Troglodyte sources.  No one in our church is perfect.  We all have problems that we should be striving to improve on.  And yes, like Altered said, there have been people who were corrupt and rebelled against our church.

I do not know if it\'s Troglodyte\'s sources that are wrong, or if it\'s just a slight misunderstand/bending of the truth/etc.  But whatever it is, I do not believe that what Troglodyte said is true.  I will keep an open mind about it though and keep my ears and eyes open.

Well, I think it\'s sad that Disc here can\'t believe in god. If it is total BS, why does nearly everybody in the world belive in *some* type of religion?

Really doesn\'t make sense if Religion is that popular, man.

See Yuz.

Heh..I remember when a couple of mormons showed up at my place. I asked them about Quetzelquatle...a god with holes in the palm of his hands that people of the Incas worsphipped. They said, "Yeah....that was Jesus!"

And then I said, "Quetzelquatle was a winged dragon. But Joseph Smith didn\'t know that. He just heard about the hole in its palms and concluded it was Jesus."

We all make mistakes. :)

BTW, I\'m Catholic. I\'m used to the redicule. :D

<---- Corrupt Mormon

I am technicaly a mormon.  I was born and raised mormon and my parents are still mormon.

I think that of all the Christian based religions you people would find Mormonism the easiest to believe.  I can understand the fact that any religion is pretty hard to swallow, but I think the Mormon religion has a firm grasp on reality compared to other religions.

Don\'t get me wrong, I am now older, married and living on my own without claiming any religion.  However, I still think Mormonism is the least corrupt.

The ideals of the religion, the way it is run, the wellfare system, the vollunteer method of set-up...etc.    These are all great aspects of a religion where everyone involved is a vollunteer and nobody gets paid.

Where is the corruption???  Not in the system but in some of the people.

The Nintendo 64 is a good system...  just because some jerk-off played it way too much and died doesn\'t mean it is a deadly machine.

If I had to point at one Christian religion and say "That religion is the most clean in it\'s ideals" it would have to be Mormons.

Mormons do have one perk I like, bigomy! WOOT!

I love how Joseph Smith thought he found some ancient writings in South America and he thought they were written by angels. Turned out to be an Inca grocery list!

There is only one Bible. And it wasn\'t written by Mormons.
